    I am with this guy. I was so excited about putting these in...
    I did a Steeda trans insert and a Steeda Shifter Body mount.. It is so loud inside my car now , that I hate it... I am going to pop out the trans insert tomorrow and see if that calms things down.. If it doesn't I am going to take the rubber from the stock bracket and put it in with the Steeda bracket and hope for the best.... I was going to get an aluminum one piece but now I am going to wait and save for the carbon fiber one. Thanks for the truth!!!
    There are a lot of people out there saying how smoother and great these parts feel when it's a total lie.. They make my car shake violently at 3000 RPM WTF is that about???

      Another great example of what people don't tell you. When bought my aluminum shaft, I had to get it balanced because it would shake your senses to death. When they put it on the machine to balance it, I was so freaking off, I couldn't believe it.

    See I knew I was going to have to save and wait to get the carbon fiber shaft.. I hate NVH. There's nothing worse than listening to AM or CJ Pony and buying a part putting it in and then hating the fuc out of it! Because of all the crazy vibration and noise that comes with it!!! Plus After spending 100's to 1000's on their parts...

    • @DocsBoost
      @DocsBoost  Před 5 měsíci +1

      You really have a valid point that goes even beyond what you said. Places try to sell you all kinds of parts by making it sound like you just have to have it. Suspension parts especially. Things to adjust, things to relocate, and on and on goes the list. The real need goes deep into the overall change you are planning to make and why. The why of it all is so freaking important. If you add just one thing it can throw so many other things out of wack it's not funny.

    This was a first mod to upgrade to, along with a safety loop. Which I hope was done but doesn’t look like it or mentioned.
    Safety is key when upgrading parts.
    Best part was the car moving faster and faster RPM with carbon fiber driveshaft.
    My Most exciting upgrade was a trinity blower. You should consider it as well as cooling upgrades.

      @@KapcomRacing on aluminum i would definitely consider having it. Do you have the carbone driveshaft? Did you adjust pinion angle? if yes , is it possible on a stock car that is lowered on eibach pro springs?
      Can't find any info on internet about adjusting pinion angle.
      Haven't really felt any vibration on my 2012 gt500 with carbon fiber driveshaft. Only when i installed BMR LCA control arm with relocation bracket. Whole car and mirrors did shake like crazy at 70 mph and up. Had to Install back stock LCA control arms.

    • @KapcomRacing
      @KapcomRacing Před 2 lety +1

      @@canson1988 that’s a lot of vibration.
      I have carbon fiber. I don’t have an install video but just an update video that it is on. I’m on stock suspension right now but looking to upgrade some of it and very soon. If you did LCA did you do the UCA and adjustable Pan hard bar? Might need the wheels rebalanced and suspension tightened.

    • @canson1988
      @canson1988 Před 2 lety +1

      @@KapcomRacing i didn't do the UCA , but have bmr adjustable panhardbar which is centered. I did rebalance my wheels and it didn't help with the vibration. Not sure if all bolts were tighten actually.
      Changed back to my OEM LCA control arms and all vibration was gone.
      In future i will try install only the BMR LCA , and not the relocation bracket.

    Hey Doc, what about heat from the exhaust on the CF shaft? What's your thoughts on that? Thanks

    • @DocsBoost
      @DocsBoost  Před rokem +2

      That's a question I have never seen come up before and honestly I have never thought about it. I have used it for quite some time on the track and off (of course) without issues. The CF shaft still looks pristine. I would say the exhaust heat is not an issue. Thanks for asking . Oh, by the way, when I say track, I mean road racing not just drag racing. So torture is key and heat has not been a factor. Thanks again for asking.

I have a Magnum XL trans swap into my Boss 302, which is not an uncommon swap, and both the Driveshaft shop and QA1 told me they don't make a shaft for a Coyote w/ a Magnum trans in an S197. It would have to be custom ordered, and gave me a form to fill out that would require removing my shaft and taking apart to measure the u-joints. P.I.A. Hard to believe.

    I installed carbon fiber drive shaft and i have this mild vibration after installation. Any idea what made the vibration? Thanks in advance…

    • @DocsBoost
      @DocsBoost  Před 2 lety +1

      Well, two things come to mind. First, the car was lowered and the drive angles are off a bit. See my video on drive angles (czcams.com/video/EkBvEvifxQM/video.html). The second thing that comes to mind is balance. Shafts need balancing just like tires and wheels or anything that rotates at high speeds. Check this video out - czcams.com/video/7hyLa9fvGDc/video.html. The balance is more unlikely, but it can happen. Both are easy fixes. I hope you find this helpful.

  • @chrisw.7039

    How long did that take to install. It looked simple enough. I don't have an extra car lying around so I have to be conscious of whether or not I will have enough time to complete a job since I would generally be working alone. I want to get a carbon fiber shaft for my 23. Just need to know any issues I might run into. Will also upgrade the exhaust with a cat back while I'm under there so I don't have to go back underneath the car again for something different.

    • @DocsBoost
      @DocsBoost  Před rokem +3

      It took about an hour and 45 minutes, which includes getting the car up on stands and then back down again. Just a tip. When the rear axle is hanging in full rebound when using jack stands other than on the axle, one of the exhaust pipes will have to come off to get the one-piece shaft in place. But if you use the stands on the axle, the shaft should go in without removing one exhaust pipe. I know it sounds backwards but its true. Good luck.
