Lawson 100 is literally a convinience store with food items for 100 yen 😊 and daiso has everyday products for 100 yen too! So for a developped and rich country, Japan has actually a lot of affordable stuff
in Italy in super discount stores u can find an entire pasta pack for 0.20 € and a bottle of tomato sauce for 0.30€, u can lunch for 3 days with this
I'm England you can buy a fair amount of food for only a few pounds. If you go at night you get crazy discounts. Stuff goes from 1 pound to like 45 p

In Gulf countries in general. Even though cost of living can be high in some countries but when it comes to food. There is always a very cheap and good quality option. This is no mistake it’s there to insure no one is hungry. In my country kuwait it’s a law to keep certain food items at the same price regardless of inflation to insure everyone is feed.
