If you order Nasi Padang for takeaway, they'll give you two portions of rice instead of one, at the same price. This tradition originated from colonial times, where dine-in usually reserved for whites. Therefore, the seller gives the natives two portions of rice for takeaway, so they can share it with others.

I'm Indonesian and I've been living in the Netherlands for the past 2 years. I knew things are expensive here but I never got use to paying 5 euro for a ham and cheese panini for lunch, where I could easily get a full meal (rice + protein + veg) back home. I'm gonna go home in a month and I can't wait to enjoy full meal in affordable price

For some people, it's instant way to replenish the energy, but for other, it can cause food comma and fatigue because of slow digestion. Don't know if it's sarcasm or not but everyone in each country is a different person, they either work for buzzfeed or are affiliated somehow 😅

It is but this is challenge should be buy a mid priced lunch to make it more fair. At the end of the day you cant compare a cheap meal from a lower income nation to high income nation cause pay and domestic products correlate and grow together. So at the end of day a mid priced lunch is a mid priced lunched cost compare cost. Not gonna move from say UK to get ur lunch cheapier for $5

@@StackSC13 all I'm saying is, how much ever you pay, the food is crap and unhealthy. Low income countries are eating better than high income ones.

I’ve been to that exact Joe’s pizza in manhattan and I can say from experience that is was the best pizza I’ve ever had. It wasn’t tragic.
Edit: also I’m Canadian so I’m not being biassed
