  • I was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Non Small Cell Metastasizing Lung Cancer. I wasn't sure if I was going to post anything about it at all or keep it private between me and family, but I decided that maybe posting what I go thru and doing updates in real time could have some kind of positive come from it. It has been a lot to take in and everything has been happening so fast, its been a lot to try to process, but, I will trying to post more informative updates as well as updates after treatments. For now tho, this is where it starts...

Listen to me. When the treatment successes start rolling in you will experience a joy like you've never felt before. And they will. And you'll understand the deepest meaning of gratitude. Barrel forward. Realize the immense strength that you have, and feel a huge amount of pride for the person you discover yourself to be.

Rare sarcoma (chondrosarcoma) patient here… THINGS. WILL. GET. BETTER. The beginning of a cancer journey is the worst part, IMHO. Once the initial shock starts to wear off and once you’re rolling right along with treatment you’re going to realize just how treatable this beast is and how you can actually carve out a wonderful life while fighting cancer on the side. You’ll be surprised how fast chemo demolishes those tumors. Just watch… watching those disappear will only fortify your strength and make you excited for life again. Chin up. Shoulders back. You really CAN DO THIS. And don’t forget… there are a ton of people fighting the beast right along side you… like myself. We are literally in the fight with you and we need to stick together. I promise you can do this. And I promise things will get better. ❤️

I dont know how I happened upon your channel, but I did. I am an oncology social worker and I am sitting here marveling at your bravery and saying this all out loud. . Thank you for your sharing and honesty. I agree wholeheartedly with the others who have commented it's hard to do this alone. Reach out for the support you need, talk even if its hard to know what to say or how to say it. Be gentle on yourself, ask for what you need, hard to do, but the rewards are great. You will be in my thoughts and prayers, sending you strength and love.

I feel you. I had Stage III Adenocarcinoma (a non-small cell carcinoma) of the lung. Scared me to death. Chemo was not bad at all. Radiation made my esophagus sore like a killer sore throat. I wish you the best. It's so scary. Mine felt like an alien in my chest. So much pressure. I was the most chicken-sh$t person on the planet and still pushed forward. You can do this!!!! I cried all the time. It's ok to cry. Honest!

now is the time that you feel like you have been hit by a train, literally. I have been where you are 2x. i was stage 3b malignant melanoma, then breast cancer, both had lymph node involvement. I tell you once you get in the solution, there will e some mental relief. You will help others by telling your story. God is with us in our darkest times. Talking about it does help....may God bless you and guide your decisions. i kept a journal and it helped me get my thoughts and mind wrapped around this life changing event. My boys were young and i just wanted to be a mother. Hang in there the best you can. 20 yrs later i am still here....still taking a chemo pill. I was blessed with a wnderful surgeon as well. I will be keeping up with your journey.

Sweetheart I wish I could give you the biggest hug. It's great you have such a supportive loving family. My beautiful son Joshua was diagnosed with cancer a week before his 20 birthday. After 5 years he was in remission. He suffered from sever depression and anxiety PTSD afterwards the cancer diagnosis. I lost my beautiful son Joshua 2 years and 2 months. I truly tired everything to save him,to get him to choose life. I became mentally unwell myself the last year of his life trying to save him. You have truly inspired me to get out of bed because of the horrific grief I feel to get myself healthy again and try to help other young people going thou mental illness. I couldn't save my beautiful son Joshua but hopefully in the future I can get stronger to help just one young person. Try to positive you can beat this insidious illness sweetheart but always let your feelings out. The strongest thing you can do is ask for help and cry. I truly appreciate your honesty about what's going on in your life. Always ask for a second OPINION with another doctor. Their not gods!!! they get it wrong at times. You know your body.
Joshua's doctor said it was a cyst. I ask 3 times for him to get Joshua a ultrasound that day. He didn't want to do this for fuck sake. Ask, question if you feel you don't agree with your doctor. That day I got Joshua in to get the ultrasound he needed.I took the ultrasound of them and went to the local hospital. He had a cancer of his testical.
Know you're helping other people going thou this insidious illness. Much love and light sweetheart and thankyou for getting me out of bed grieving my son and just wishing to go to him. One step at a time. Wishing you nothing but good health and try to de-stress anyway you can. Look into Tapping and meditation please to release the stress a bit.

It sounds as if you have a great support network around you, that will make a huge difference. It’s a shock when a diagnosis like this comes out of the blue, talking about it and sharing your feelings are good ways to help you come to terms with it and deal with it. Dig deep, fight hard. Good luck.

This is raw, you're courageous, inspiring and will give so many people going through any type of life threatening, a place to come and realize that "here's someone who knows exactly what I'm going through". Family and friends were/are a comfort but have no idea about how we feel. Thank you for this and oh yeah, dying isn't an option.

I'm so sorry you have to go through this and experience how devastating cancer can be. Life is hard and death is hard too. Everybody has to die one day and no one really talks about it. I was diagnosed with cancer 3 years ago. It ruined me totally. I'm not the person I used to be. I'm someone else, and I don't know who that is. I look into the mirror and what I can see is not me any more. It's a different, distorted body that is strange and at times even repulsive to me. That was the revelation to me that I'm not equal with my body. I'm not just a body, I'm something else too. If you've got the strength, please keep educating others. It's immensly helpful, as cancer is a tabu or at least in the media it is. Though it's one of the top leading causes of death.

Hi. I'm a 20-year cancer survivor. This is so hard and such a heavy burden to carry yourself. It's wonderful that your parents are able to stay and help and that you can lean on them for support at this time. Making this video was so incredibly brave of you and will help a lot. My best wishes and hope for your recovery and strength. Try to take it day by day and in the meantime, eat and treat yourself well.

It was a similar type of video along with few more that inspired me to start meditating and reading about life development etc.
