This is so unprofessional from apple, paying this much to end up with annoying notch. It’s just not worth the price until they find a fix for this mess.
This notch is just a design aberration, Steve would never have allowed this !
how funny - literally just made this comment. This would have not passed jobs as a UI or user experience. It adds nothing. On the phone, it's kinda ok. But adding a black slab to the KEY USER INTERFACE AREA is shocking!!!!!

why has everyone been complaining that dates in finder default to being huge all the time? Why no more video previews expcet apple codecs now? Apple listens to one thing, and it is green in the USA and covered in birds and kangaroos or pictures of old ladies everywhere else.

1:30 The 16:10 has pretty much exactly the same size as the previous models (just 1 mm more).
The notch area is the extra, but the 16.2 inch in diameter are with the extra notch area.
Whats that glow around fonts and icons... does the new macbook have a "bloom" feature... Or is it a neon font effect?
Did they ever fix all these issue later on?
Imagine clicking the notch scrolls the content back to its top, just like how iOS works

in general it was good, but I found it a bit too long which made me bored at some point because some things were being repeated. I have the feeling that it could be shorter.

I have issue with adobe photoshop and illustrator. Menu on top has exceeded to the right of notch and make it more difficult to click.
just make the notch go all the way across the top of screen. problem solved. here's to hoping apple watch 8 has a notch, and the next gen xdr display, m2 air, and imac pro.

I installed Top Notch on my Macbook M1 14" and it worked when first installed, but no longer works.

The placement of the notch must have been suggested by a twisted mind person. LIVE AND SEE! How ugly is to interfere with the continuity of a beautiful display. Design a wider upper bezel to accommodate the camera.

The notch is the only major thing wrong with these laptops; a stain on an otherwise very good laptop.
Facts. I was so close to buying one of these laptops when it was first revealed, and as soon as I saw the notch on the screen, I was instantly turned away. It’s one thing to have a notch on a $800 smartphone, but it’s another thing to have a notch on a $1,500-$2,000 flagship laptop
Windows has a solution to this for many years now. I m surprised Apple hasn't. I m sure they'll sooner than later, but still weird.

Just change the resolution from 1728x1117 to 1728x1080 and the notch is gone.
I will always hate notches, that's why I left the iPhone after the iPhone 8, bought Android devices and had to buy the last 13" MacBook Pro with the M2 chip and full specs. Bye Apple! Such a stupid design. Maybe they are so stupid that they will add that shit to the studio display.
Tbh the notch was tolerable when the iPhone X came out, only to show how much of an upgrade the front camera was. But to have it on such an expensive and premium laptop is such a disappointment, that I’m sure Steve Jobs would not have approved of
@@lacosta0892 exactly but it was more because of the sensors of face ID on the X as of the shitty selfie cam. They could have easily put all that over the top of the screen to get a useful yet elegant experience.
