    Great video. I appreciate the idea to just zip-tie everything. Simple and Makes sense.

    Put a buoy on you anchor line if you ever had cut it free you can recover it
    Use linesmans pliers and twist until the Wyre tye snaps from the square
    It won't leave sharp edges
    Takes a second longer more professional results

    Listening to you talk about being right hand dominant and putting things where you will be able to grab them with your right hand makes me thankful for being ambidextrous so I don’t have to worry about that😂

    Why the end cap if the crate has a bottom

  • @Manuel_Z_Kayaks

    You're supposed to clip the anchor from the bottom and ZIP TIE the rope to the top...C'mon Zip Tie Guy!?

  • @willie9397
    @willie9397 Před 6 lety +4

    tie the rope to the bottom of the anchor first then zip tie it to the top hole so if it gets hung up on something on the bottom, a simple tug will break the zip tie and you should be able to get your anchor free, just some advice lots of vids on youtube, thanks for sharing well done

    I'd like to see how you have the crate on your kayak and keep it from falling off if you happen to tip or something like that. Thanks

    I just got my crate. Some handy tips here. How often do you use the anchor?

  • @randyluna551
    @randyluna551 Před 4 lety

    Just thought I'd point out that there is no reason to put a cap on the bottom end of your anchor tube if it is already sitting on the bottom of the crate. :)

    Which set of rod leashes did you buy? Just curious because the 10 pack I bought for $10 suuuuucked. The carabiners don’t even stay closed.

      The Fishing Family I think I bought that same pack, but I added Velcro straps later

      Chase Pennell haha good idea. I left a review on amazon so hopefully fewer people waste their money on them.

    And if you are a bank fishermen, you can fix it very well too. thanks for sharing... no boat, no kayak, just bank fishing mostly.

    Not bad but you put the muddy spool in your handle so it looks awkward to cary

      How does it work without an anchor trolly?
      How do you ensure the boat is pointed properly I would think you can only get away with using that point just behind the seat just for very light wind/current conditions.
      Good video. I really like the idea for the anchor stow. simple clean, fast deploy and low center of gravity.

    • @ChasePennell
      @ChasePennell  Před 6 lety

      GAF2011NJ I actually have added an anchor trolly since this video.

    interesting ...you spent $60 for a base milk crate, another video complained that the cost of a pre-built crate was $35.... might be easier to just buy a pre-built and save some money

      george marnelakis it is on the deck, tied to a retractable holder. If I cannot get to it in time, nothing else would have happened.
