I think amazon's muffler is an important part of his design, like you said amazon is a scary rider so the addition of a muffler is really the only thing that would tell a random kid at the time channel surfing: "Don't worry, he's a good guy"
Also mufflers were kind of the motif of the Showa era, as well as bugs

@@mythcafe Yellow mufflers were used to signify they were a villain. Or at least used to be in Riderman's case.
To be fair, I think Zi-O being plain, was to accommodate the armors used. Otherwise, I feel like it would've been a clusterfuck
true. a simple design is befitting for the crazy and sometimes stupid armor slapped on to it.

@@ZephyrBW I feel like they don't suit the clock motif. I mean you've got these cool sleek hi tech looking suits and then suddenly.....giant letters spinning everywhere.
Honestly I don't think the katakana stuff is bad but I just think it looks a bit out of place in Zio. ( It would probably suit a ninja/samurai themed rider series more)

i agree that riderman looks weird but i actually like how he uses that arm thing he has
i can only imagine an another rider man
also riderman is a suit where it would be cool if a kaijin stole it since we can see the mouth of the kaijin remain
RIderman could be easily fixed if they just continued the chest pieces towards the center, to fill in the blank spots left by the center triangle (which is a motif he has, hell it's his official logo: the belt design), and (while this is actually a modern design trope) continue the white outer triangle/chevron on the vest to end at the sides of the hips (like Zi-O's does with his pink stripes).
That would take the design from "thrown together" to "intentional". The helmet has to stay, it's literally the one thing aside from the cassette arm that defines him.
Maybe the eyes could be changed from looking like they're bulging to them looking like Ichigo's eyes. Make them bigger and flatter.
BREAKING NEWS: TOEI HAS CONFIRMED FOR THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY THAT THERE WILL BE A NEW KAMEN RIDER ANIME BASED OFF THE KAMEN RIDER W SPINNOFF MANGA!! THE ANIME IS CALLED FUUTO PI SET TO DEBUT IN 2022!!

And that gold on the helmet is from blade fusion Jack form as for some reason they lost the helmet

I guess I will put down my thoughts on the riders in your list. (Even if I am late)
Rider man: While many of my opinions may be very different from yours, Riderman is an exception. You are not the only one who thinks that the multitude of clashing colors and strange design choices (split chest and zero mouth cover) look terrible. Definitely at the my bottom.
V3: I will agree that V3’s mouth section looks kind of saggy, but other than that, I think this suit looks alright. I’m not a fan of the red and green color scheme, but if works for this suit and it is way better than riderman’s suit. Maybe a little bit higher for me, but otherwise, I similar spot on my list.
ZX: The red and silver really do work. However, the spot patterns on the suit throw me off and the antennas look so thin. I like the ideas, but for the most part it doesn’t work for me. I would say V3 looks better. ZX would be somewhere around the bottom of my list.
Amazon: A very different rider, but I honestly like it. The red vein detail really makes the suit stand out as this predator like creature and the human like chest muscles add to Amazon. Overall, the unsettling nature of this suit makes Amazon stand out quite a bit. I would probably put Amazon a little higher around the lower tier section of my list.
Skyrider: Skyrider for me is V3 done right. The red and green coloring actually has some sense of symmetry, plus the mouthpiece has this neat design and pattern. Nothing much else to say. He would be a little higher around the low tier.
Zi-O: I like the ideas that they are going for Zi-O, and for the most part, the katakana eyes and the clock motif works. I will say that Zi-O has a little too much black, it the other details do make the suit look less dull. Zi-O would probably be higher on my list, but not that high.
Blade: My taste: blue coloring looks sleek and cool. Because of this, I really like blade’s design the primary usage of silver for the armor parts look so good, which is further enhanced with the red lining, and I just really love the blue color. I would definitely place Blade higher on my list.
Ichigo/Nigo: For being the first riders in the franchise, their simplistic yet outgoing features these two riders have just look great. Despite the big amounts of black, I think it works in this suits favor by making the green chest piece stand out and the red scarf also is a nice addition, but I think a rider such as Skyrider does a better job at the red and green coloring. Same area as Skyrider, just below said rider.
Ghost: While too much black can be a downgrade for a suit, I think in Ghost’s case, it works due to the theme of ghost. Not just that, but the black also always the orange lining to light up and pop out more. Even though the horn looks out of place, The inverse eyes are quite unique and the hoodie as part of the rider looks very cool. I would probably place Ghost around mid-tier.
Ex-Aid: Ex-Aid certainly hits the gamer ascetics with the controller and hp chest piece, and the eyes also fit that department as well, even if I don’t like the black line underneath it. The hair detail and the magenta coloring for ex-aid fits well, but that head in the back I feel doesn’t need to be part of the suit. Ex-Aid would probably be around the same area you placed him in.
FINALLY IT'S HERE!
The holes on Blade is obviously "screw holes", mimicking an actual knight's armor

Fr Kamen Rider Blade's design is interesting to me as well, plus in one of the scene the fight was in a snowy plain biome and i just love it

I have a lot of favorites but one that always comes into my head is Kamen Rider Black. The first Kamen Rider that I have ever seen. His design was awesome!!
Me, knowing literally nothing about Kamen rider: "I wonder what will be number 1"
for blades helmet you could say it got the gold shade (sundamage) from the fact that blade is now a joker undead. since in his series he had a white helmet but when we meet up with blade in latter series e.g. ex-aid and zi-o the helmet is gold from the fact he is now a joker. or it could recusant that this blade can change into his jack or king form, but i like the joker idea better.
In reality they just refused jack forms helmet in later series
This also doubles as a ranking the final form for the Reiwa Riders

I believe that Blade is partly based on a beetle with a blade or smt like that, which is why there this thing on the helmet and might explain a patterns on chest piece maybe

ThumbsUpping Kuuga 1:15 from the Progrise key also the first through the main 7 riders have been given the same names to the Black RX adaptation and different names like warrior commander and so on though Kamen Rider Build is same to Harley Quinn with colors switched like black on one leg and red on other then the opposite of the chest and arms I actually like that

My favorite kamen rider base form is Fourze because it was the series that got me into kamen rider to begin with. I'm definitely still trying to find a figure of that suit for a good price

Saber is my favorite - it the only toy-line from Kamen Rider that i actively bought as much as i could for (i collect Sentai toys more), followed by ZI-0, its plain look is IMO great because of the armor that he gets

kamen rider shin is probably one of my favourites since its so creepy and disturbing his mouth literally splits apart
I just noticed how ex aid has a mustache under his visor thing.
Personally my favorite is Hibiki, I love the weird and mystical vibes from the suit, it looks like something you see on a urban legend and since Hibiki is based on the Onis it fits like a glove.
Honorable mentions to: Wizard, Ryuki, Kabuto and others.
And Ex-aid is the one I hate the most, first the helmet, I get what they where doing but it looks way to silly and the hair cut doesn't convince me at all, the chest plate looks like a cheap plastic you find on a market for 50 cents, and the pink and black colours just looks ugly and out of place for me.
Disonable mentions: I don't really dislike any suit aside from this one and Riderman and maybe Ghost but that suit is growing on me.

Dunny enough my dislike with the zi-o suit are the inverse, the facplate is kinda a miss for menly bacause something fells off, like it losst something when it was turned on sgriped dow version of ohma zio
I enjoy watching the base forms in action, but then they get chucked away so toei can promote a new toy-I mean introduce a new form.
I feel ya. They are to be the main focus which only last for 1/4 of the show only to be replaced with an power up too early without earning somehow.

My original toku idea time and it's kamen rider Rex turbo
It's a kamen based on a dinosaur it is a green T. rex suit and the story is that one day a rock fell from the space to energy of the rock brings back every animal that died like the ice age and the dinosaur and it bring back humans who can use these animals as an armor our hero is kyo who likes animals and likes making CZcams videos about them one day he finds a key which has a T. rex art on it and a driver and then a raptor comes and runs at him he gets scared and then the driver creates a shockwave and the key talks to him says put on the driver he puts it and it's time to open the gates of the past with key says he says kamen rider rex the gray suit which is not powered up yet he fights and fails the key says use the rider kick uses it kicks becomes a big T. rex and eats the raptor and runs away from the place and goes to home to his moms and dads house

I really like the series I really do but I find the ex-aid suits to be messy
The Z's in Japanese are pronounced with a J with a few exceptions. I don't know why people pronounce words completely incorrectly is hillarious because all you need to do is copy the words from the show. I.e. JI OH (from ziku driver (jjjiku driver)), and then you are like cool lemme try Zzzi Oh (like how do you mess that up).
They're pronouncing it the way that works with their language which is understandable, its more annoying when they tell you youre saying it wrong

I didn't like the plastic chest piece for ghost, it just looks off to me.
My least favorite base form from Heisei is definitely Zi-O the suit was fine but it does nothing at all. Almost every base form in heisei has some kind of specific special ability but Zi-O doesn't have any.
riderman, i don't like the suit but i like the show, out of all the rider his just a normal everyday guy with no human enhancement his suit doesn't even gives his super strength, the only power he got is his weaponize prosthetic which is so cool when i was a kid,
give the 70's onward a break, they didnt know better and did what they could
