You’re giggling was infectious!❤
😄
@@CactusAtlas..Another great video!! But I have to say your best are when you and slim go back and forth occasionally....Like when you were giggling about the trail ...It would have been great to hear slim say " I'm glad I can entertain you"
Or the part you scraped your hitch mount, to here him blame you with a user error comment..this place added to my list!!! thanks!!!
What a great experience, driving in that sand! It did look pretty deep banked up around Slim's tires. Glenn was in his element and loving it. So was I. Thanks Amy and Glenn! 🌞🏜⚡️
Thank you! Glenn was definitely in his element. Just thankful that the conditions weren't too much worse out there. 😅
Surfing sand is the best feeling!..🤠🤘🌵
It was quite a thrill for sure!
On people being surprised to see you in your truck out there. When I lived in Sedona in the 70’s & 80’s, I would take my 2WD F-250 out on the steep trails in the red rock. Only to have the “Pink Jeep” tours come by and tell me that I shouldn’t be out there disrupting their business cause I ruining their image. 🤣
😂😂 I love that. Kinda inspires to head out there ourselves and wave at the Jeeps. 🤣😅
Hey, this would have been the perfect video for Slim to have a say too! I’m sure he enjoyed the challenges!
Haha! Indeed it would. I think he was very focused though. 😅
Great off road adventure! Very enjoyable seeing landscape that we won’t be able to access. Thanks for taking us along.
Our pleasure! More than happy to bring the landscape to you. ☺️
I loved your excitement for driving in the sand. Thankful for your honesty on how you felt about previous ratings of the trail.
Our pleasure! Thanks so much! 😄
Crazy spectacular scenery! All of the drone footage really had the wow factor! 😮 I am one of those with the mom instinct always worried you will get stuck. 😬 so glad you made it! Whew! A great adventure!!
Hahah! I hear you. The stories I hear when he gets back from trips... I'm so glad that I don't know ahead of time! 😂
Wow Glen you're becoming quite the offroader!
This looks like a really fun place to go
Thanks for showing us the way 👍
You bet! Thanks for watching! 😄
In your soul…I feel the same way! It’s in my soul! I’m drawn to it. I feel it’s my life force. Like a drug!
Exactly! 👍
The side by sides make the bumbs
Thanks Glenn for this action-packed ride with some challenges. You did well. What a beautiful place this is. Glad Slim is okay. The sand is really unique. So glad you took us on this ride. Thanks to Amy too and all her hard work with the videos. See you on the next adventure.
Thanks so very much! Slim is a champ and is 100% a-okay. Couldn't do this without him. 😄
Very enjoyable video, and a beautiful drive! Thanks so much!
Many thanks! Glad that you enjoyed it! 😊
That was cool watching Slim have fun doing some rock crawling. You did good. 👍
Thank you so much! 😄
Nice. I've had a lot of fun out there over the years, glad to see a video on it. Good driving, there's definitely a pucker factor to that obstacle if you haven't done anything like it before.
Well said! We're still relatively new to offroading and getting experience. There might have been some puckering. 😂
Love this entire area. I’ve run Logandale mult. times in an Xterra PRO-4X and as you’ve mentioned, the sand conditions can change pretty dramatically and the soft sand can get very deep.
I can imagine. One good storm and sand likely won't be where it was before.
Nice video! I've done this loop many times in my ZR2, and it's always a blast. That steeper rock section and some of those other climbs have never worried me, and I like taking newer off road drivers there to get their reaction. I think it looks scarier than it is. You did good, stayed calm and picked out your lines. Trust your ZR2, it's really capable!
Thanks! Appreciate hearing that. 😄
What a nice trip, thx for sharing!
Our pleasure! Thank you! 😊
Glad the both of you didn't get stuck! I need to do more off-roading to be intimate with the scaling system, but to your point, there were way more difficulties on this trail than other 3s you've done before. If they rate it like that, they should point out the gotchas, like the deep sand at times and that really steep section. As you said, point out things like flattening your tires, using 4 high & low, etc. Thanks for the trip!!
Even with what experience we do have we could still use a lot more to be better able to judge ratings. But yeah.... it's so hard to compare this 3 to some of the other 3s. 🤔
If Glen is seriously considering a van, most of those, unless made accordingly, DO NOT do well in this terrain. I've watched enough van life channels to learn about them. I did get a higher clearance one by chance, I got lucky, but I still would never take it on these types of roads.
This was awesome! I love watching these types because I would never do this on my own and I don't know anyone who does, so that was way cool to experience...even if it was on a screen.
Doubtful that a van will happen any time soon (if at all). Just a nice idea to kick around. 🙂
@@CactusAtlas yeah I kind of figured that he kind of said it just in the moment... Just thought I'd let you guys know 😉
That sand reminds me of the "sugar sand" we have here in Florida. Have buried my vehicle to the frame in it a few times.
Yikes! Sounds like a sure way to have a good time ruined. Hopefully you were able to recover quickly.
I was also quite surprised by the sand. A little nerve racking at points. We went counter clockwise, and I think the difficult spot was a little easier going uphill. I also agree though that a 3 rating is a little light. Between that one obstacle and the sand, I'd say at least a 4. Remember that the sand gets softer as the temps increase. Could be really difficult on a hot day.
West side was some of the worst washboard we've ever experienced!
Was wondering if that spot was easier to go up instead. Glad to hear from someone else who experienced the trail! 😄👍
Agree….don’t stop! Lol! Beautiful!
So hard to sometimes when you have scenery like that out there. 😅
If there was no bypass for that spot where you hit the back of slim, then it needs to be like a 5/10.. for my experience anyway.. what an adventure that was.. slim is capable of doing hard trails
All it takes is a bit more experience and we might be ready too. 😂
Y'all did great. Thanks for the share.😊
Thank you so much! 😊
You would not see me going back there in a chevy Colorado, they are known as the “least” reliable and “most” likely to breakdown. But really nice hike and glad to see you made it out safely.
It's a Colorado ZR2 - meant for offroad - and has been nothing short of reliable. 👍😄
@@CactusAtlas for the first 36k miles or 36 months which ever comes first!
I am only the messenger repeating what I have seen and heard from very reliable sources.
Good luck 👍 stay lucky 🍀
Everyone is going to have their own story or experience with a brand. 🤷♀️
Nice video I thank slim liked it lol . I’d say it’s a 4 and hopefully was a blue trail . Download those offline maps they work awesome and take very little memory and they download fast
Nope. Green trail. Kind of nutty. 🤔 Slim definitely enjoyed it though. 👍
If you haven't done it already, you should put Bitter Springs Trail (back country byway) on your list. OnX says it's a 5, but that rating seems high to me for what it was. There are rock garden sections off the main trail, but completely avoidable. I would say Slim is plenty capable for Bitter Springs.
Looks like a great trail based on the photos on OnX. Curious how one trail gets a 5 and another a 3. 😅 It would be fantastic if ratings could be averaged seeing as how conditions often change. Thanks for the recommendation! We'll keep it in mind the next time we're up that way.👍
Trust your truck. It can do a lot more than you give it credit for.
So we're learning! It's mostly just experience that takes a while. 😅
I highly recommend a power tank co2 tank system to air your tires up. On my Jeep, I had all 4 tires aired up from 12psi to 35 psi in about 3 minutes. Only down side is when you’re empty you out of air. I usually could do 7 fill ups before getting the co2 tank refilled.
Dang. That's a fast fill up! 😂
I prefer a ARB compressor for the reason you mention, running out of air. I have mine mounted in the engine compartment and turned on via a switch in the cab. It is a little slower though, usually takes me about 5-6 minutes to air up the 35's from 15-35 PSI.
Treat YourSelf!
You are too awesome! Thank you so very very much! 😊🙏
That's how I feel with Pines and forests . I live in the desert and even though it has it's beauty my family and I go up to Prescott, Pine , Strawberry and Flagstaff when we are coming down the mountains into the desert valley I feel kinda sad ... many many years ago those places in Az were affordable and we regret not buying a small cabin...now everything is extremely expensive. Anyways we enjoy your videos my husband and I follow you ! Keep up the good work! Plz do more of Az , it is such a beautiful state all over :)
Hahaha! In all honesty... I feel that way about pine forests as well. Glenn adores the desert (as do I), but give me a shady pine forest with fresh air and I'm at my happiest. Thankfully Arizona has so much variety that it's hard to get bored. 😊
@CactusAtlas I totally agree with you! I love watching deer , javalinas, squirrels, bears from a very long distance LOL. I think I lived in the middle of a lush forest in a nice cabin. You should come out more in Glen's videos you're so much fun !! Salutations to both of you :)
