So nice to see other people coming up with almost exact same solutions. I was experimenting with cutting on the solar number but after commander nerf I do not believe it is possible to go lower. Well done on that build order.

The dynamic of being able to reclaim buildings and units really sets this apart from some other RTS games. Most of the time if you commit to a decision you have to live with it or wait until you have the resources to pivot again. In BAR you can reclaim a building and pivot rapidly. That is so powerful.
Awesome tutorial it definitely gets you a lot of econ fast. However it seems to me that this is an IDEAL scenario and that it should only be done this way if the front line is holding with no problems. You can catch a lot of flak for a losing game when you have 2+ Adv Fusions and no units.
If the front line is in trouble you gotta find a way to pump the breaks on the econ and find a way to help your teammates.
I had a game where the eco player didn't skip the normal fusion and when they went afus the simply gave their normal ones to the front line players. Tried it myself and while it is slower it does make it easier for them to hold the front as they can put more into units while you are teching up behind them.

Almost every game I eco as cortex and I'm reclaiming my lab, I always build a twitcher first as it allows you to get fiends on the field without rebuilding lab later, keeps you safe and will save you if some unexpected raids happen.
Twitchers are amazing! But I find there's a different dynamic between Twitchers and butlers in their different flavors of support.
Twitchers have a wider array of things to build, but Butlers can build radar and jammer bots while the Twitcher can't.
Having played a fair bit of Supreme Commander, it is wild to me how many builds call for Reclaiming the Commander and also for balancing how much resources are in storage. Really going to have to check out BAR I think.
So after we dodge the 12 min Nuke, we need to worry about the 25 min Calamity.

Wondering what this strategy would look like today. Id also appreciate a strategy that could be followed on low wind and no environmental resources like rocks/trees.

Love your ideas and your first pace eco but one big problem is in a real game you will lose nearly every time simply because you have no units or defence and your team is 100% relying on you
Safest Greed Possible - places Energy convertors next to fusions :p But very good content, Drongo, this is super solid. I'm not sold on afus first, feels like you stay 2k metal behind at 15 min mark from my experience, but early stuff is good. Couple of things from the video, I think the nanoframes start decaying after 7 seconds. Second, if you really want to speedrun, you can pre-place energy convertor and self-d it next to advanced solar to reclaim it faster, same goes for fusions.
How did you remove the blueprints from the queue when you are measuring out distances?

Use Restore height on those rocks. Sometimes it unlocks a square or two
consistent way to camaùity... just drone out the sim city accusations from your teammates and hope no one touches your base at any point xD...btw maybe an idea you could add is ask for a armada builder and spam out ticks before you start the calamity? would provide a good distraction atleast since the enemy would expect jug's (or other t3's) from you
why is it better as cor to directly go afus?
He can't build a fusion because he doesn't have a t2 constructor, and by the time he gets his t2 constructor out, he already has 3k metal, which is enough to go AFUS. (He sinks it into 5 advanced mexes, but those pay for themselves in the time it takes to finish an AFUS).
It may be possible to skip some of the nano turrets early to get faster mex upgrades, but I don't know how that would work with regards to energy. It may be necessary to have so much energy in solar panels that you will have the metal for an AFUS anyways. (especially a core AFUS, as it's much cheaper in energy specficially).

U should of spectated one of my games. After my whole team died I survived 1 v 8 for half an hour while they were pushing. They had a timed push as well. All 8 attacked me at the same time -o boy, I survived-. I died from a calamity hit
