Thanks for the great tutorial. I have made the MSQC version several times. Jenny’s pattern is called Goodnight Irene and calls for Charm squares, but I have used Jelly Roll strips with great success. ❤️

I’m so delighted that Brenda sent me over here earlier today. Finally had the time to return and subscribe. And yes, watch the crossroads quilt. It was so much fun seeing the three quilts that it challenged me to make one with a beautiful pink I have as a background. Duh, back when I wanted to make one, I didn’t realize that it is two blocks, I tried a test block and my version is just one block. This is wayyyy easier. Love the print background one too. Nite from Maine and be back later. BYE, we have chicks also and two horses. Farm gal at heart.

Yes, theirs is called that however, and do you know this?...This is an old historical pattern that doens't belong to anyone one quilter. Every designer/store that makes this names it what they want and there are 5 names for this quilt that I know of, lol. Quilting is a funny business,

Love this quilt! I've been in a quilting slump the past few months, and this is the quilt that will get me back to my machine. I've been trying out more complex patterns, and honestly, for a newbie, its often exhausting and discouraging. Time to get back to basics, although the end result of this pattern looks amazing. It's always fun to look at other colour options, especially the last one with the solid corners - it changes the look all together! Thank again, Di, for sharing your videos!

I just went thru years of stuff in my craft room and found a stack of circa 1900 sixteen patch! I've looked thru books at sashing methods used then but now Ive seen this ...! 😂 I have some double pink that will be great for the alternate block as well as older odd blocks for triangles. Perfect for my project ! ❤

I love this quilt. I thought you intentionally added the cross piece there, it kept drawing my attention, and I loved it. I am currently going through my stash, cutting anything that is smaller than a fat quarter it 5",4",3",2", and half sizes down to 1 1/2" This will be one of my scrap busters quilts. Thank you for showing how to make this one.

How fun is this? ! I'm not a huge fan of super scrappy stuff BUT when there is a NICE place for the eye to rest (so they don't go all googly), then I say YES! Super helpful to have you RBGY color reads on the fabrics that you used. So any 4 color combo would probably give the distribution of color that you want. Hah, color coordinated chickens! Thanks for demoing this.
Thank you Leisa! As a matter of fact I think you could add 4-6 colors as long as you stay true to those colors. The coordinated chickens are the border of my design wall, but you knew that right?

Hi, I made a quilt several years ago similar to the crossroads quilt that also a good stash buster called Aunt Grace by Marcus Fabric, it’s a 9-patch and it’s also a free pattern.
You’re right it is a good stash buster. I found out after I made the video that several companies and creators, have this free pattern out there and they all call it a different name!🤣Thank you for commenting and watching my channel

Controlled scrappy and 2.5 inch and 5 inch ( cot to 4.5) friendly. The border really finishes the design. I love the variations you shoe for every tutorial. Gets my creative juices flowing. Now if I could only cut and sew as fast as I think, I could finish sooooo many quilts. That's a superpower I would like to have. Great inspirational video

Missouri Star just redid this quilt as part of their anniversary year. They call it Kiss Me Kate. But I thought the one you showed us with the points being all the same fabric was fabulous and the best version.

I know this quilt as "Good Night Irene" & I made it in honor of my mother, named Irene, who died in 2012. I made mine queen sized. I love this pattern! I plan to make another one for my niece.
Love this quilt. Call MSQC customer service for the pattern. Sometimes they change the names of the quilts on patterns. I know from experience.
