The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

WOWSA! The camera zooming in at the one minute mark till the end was GENIUS!. Miss Lee knows how to work it and with that fine voice and great backing band (sounds like Harry"Sweets Edison" on trumpet who Peggy calls out on the song) this is delightful, delicious and DE-LOVELY!
It's like a long seductive line that just keeps going on and on. I agree... zooming in on her was Genuis! They used to do that Agnetha Faltskog of ABBA. They would zoom in her and she knew how to work that camera. She was drop -dead gorgeous! This isn't gonna make you get those LP'S out tonight? I'll never forget that story! 😄 I Loved it! @@that70sgirl90 I 've watched this about 10 times now, so great, notice even the microphone is out of the camera for the last 2 minutes. PURE PEGGY LEE! (The camera man deserved an EMMY award) She also also sang a Ray Charles number with the Righteous Brothers on the same night proving she could adapt to rhythm and blues, and it's on you tube

The cameraman, the director, and Peggy, herself, in brilliant collaboration.
I don’t know if it was planned or spontaneous, but the broadcast was live and the cameraman got an epic angle, the director was smart enough to not cut away from it, and Peg got very still so as to stay in frame and emote like crazy.
Pure television magic of a kind we’ll never see again.

this is a Judy Garland staple....and no one sings it better.....give a listen to her amazing live at Carnegie hall album......that said Peggy does a fine rendition here
I really enjoyed this performance, but I felt that the camera was to close to her for at least most of the time that she was singing. It would have been better if the camera be back a bit so as to see all of her and the set design or well the stage design behind her.
