    This needs to be a regular feature. Keep the videos simple, but what the team in back does every day has to be interesting given what they work on. They don't need Norm, although it's understandable why Norm is involved with this one. Assuming Lemmo demoed this one today- it sounded great. We see Norm bring them in, and we see them with Lemmo when they are ready for sale, so why not fill in the gap?

    I recently played a vintage 60/61 strat and it was fine, but I came away thinking either those guitars really aren't worth the crazy money, or my 2002 MIM 60s reissue was a home run that Fender should be really proud of. I've known other players with Fenders from 2002 in Mexico that would agree. They were doing something right then. The only thing I ever hated about my mim strat was the polyurethane and I got rid of that the first 2 weeks I owned it. I stripped it and did a Lake placid Blue with nitrocellulose. Seriously, my MIM strat is the best strat I've ever played. It's my baby.

    • @YTPartyTonight
      @YTPartyTonight Před 2 lety

      I bet that looks great. I'm curious... I think you mean you stripped and refinished with a nitro lacquer top coat, over acrylic lacquer Lake Placid Blue? I ask because the Lake Placid Blue lacquer on Fenders is Lucite 2876-L, which is acrylic lacquer, not nitro. Expanding on that, all the metallic base color coats Fender has offered in lacquer, originally/past and present, were/are acrylic lacquer. The lacquer Fender solid colors--e.g. Olympic White, Sonic Blue, Fiesta Red--are Duco, which is nitro. If--because they didn't always do it, depending how busy they were--or when Fender sprayed clear top coat over the body base color that much is always nitrocellulose.

    • @Allison_Chaynes
      @Allison_Chaynes Před 2 lety +2

      @@YTPartyTonight It's not exactly lake placid Blue. It's close as we could get with other paints. I've always liked the Lake placid Blue that is darker. Some are a little brighter color than others. So it's a certain color blue with a gray undercoat. To me it came out looking very close.

    • @Allison_Chaynes
      @Allison_Chaynes Před 2 lety

      @@millmoormichael6630 I agree with the new ones. Again, mine is a 2002 60s reissue. I sold a new strat that I bought because of that exact thing. It sounded OK. I hated the way it felt. There was something about this one though. Also, my pick ups have been changed out as well.

    This clearly show that you can pay 50k being sure that you are playing an original and it could very easily be fake. Why don’t they sort this by the way it’s tone wood sounds? Play the guitar and hear if it sounds original and vintage. Why ? Because tone wood or vintage sound does not exist. Otherwise they would use the sound of a guitar for that.
