I’m so glad you filmed this event. I forgot to ask someone to film, and have been looking all over the internet for a video of the living history/reenactment. This was one of my favorite living histories/re-enactments I’ve participated in
Taccoa, Georgia. An annual event with a WW2 museum in the original train station that troops arrived for airborne training in 1942. From there they marched 5 miles to Camp Taccoa, portrayed in the Band of Brothers series. There is a very nice museum there, and more. You can drive or hike up the Currahee mountain trail that over 15,000 soldiers hiked sometimes several times a week. They trained at Camp Taccoa, many did not survive the war, or came back terribly disabled. Check out my videos of the museum, and me hiking the mountain, 3 miles up, and 3 miles down, and many more interesting videos. Thanks again for watching and asking questions.
Real guns shooting blanks. They hold this event every year. Check out my videos of my Currahee 6 mile hike where the paratroopers trained during WW2, and the Camp Taccoa Museum that is also on the training grounds. I think you will enjoy them. Thanks for watching. I will be going to Vietnam March 5th for two weeks, making videos. It’s a battlefields tour so should be interesting.
Thats pretty wild. I went to a re-enactment in Normandy and they were shooting machine gun blanks. Always wondered if they were real guns or special blank shooting guns. Thanks, cheers.@@scottnightingale68
I completely understand. I am traveling to many battlefields in Vietnam in March 2024. The sacrifice of all during years of wars is heartbreaking. As you know the effects of war can still be seen. The peace now experienced is amazing! Good people coming together in peace, finding a way to smile again. I hear both Thailand and Vietnam are beautiful countries. I wish you and your family the very best always, and hope everyone is doing well. Thank you for watching my videos.
@@scottnightingale68 im from america, but the country i live in now is in the caribbean and reenactments arent a thing here, neither is living history events

Watch all of my videos, including Camp Taccoa, and my walk up and back on Currahee. Please subscribe to my channel and tell your friends to do so. I will be looking for you next time. Stay safe!!
Good luck to you! I pray that all is well with you and your family. Hopefully you can enjoy watching some of my many Videos. I am retired and doing some traveling. In 11 days I will be visiting Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and France. I will post videos. And March I will be in Vietnam for 14 days and will post lots of videos that you may find interesting. Thank you for watching! I wish you well.
Hello i am interested in knowing if these are real guns if so how did anyone not get injured during this (Thank god no one did!) But I am interested if there's any such bullet that cannot harm someone for the sake of an event similar to this!
Still weirds me out that your kids are 're-enacting'/playing killing our grandparents. I'm curious what battle are they re-enacting here? none of it looks overly familiar too me as someone that has studied WW2 in depth, to me it just looks like kids smashing off rounds playing action hero and reaffirming indoctrination, but i'm an outsider without any context, hence why i'm asking, genuinely curious.
Thank you for your comments. This is a WWII reenactment. In World War II, children frequently fought in both the Allied and Axis forces. I do know that soldiers frequently lied about their age to get into the fight. Parents could sign, giving permission for their children. War is ugly as we know. There were WWII vets that lived out their lives in pain, finding that the soldier they killed was actually a kid. Sad, not limited to WWII wars. In the reenactment I do believe the kids were enjoying being a part of the reenactment. At the same time, who knows, they may come from a family with a history of volunteering to protect freedoms throughout the world. Many making the ultimate sacrifice for freedom of others. The next generation of kids will defend our countries, some becoming the next generations of heroes. Today, I pray for Israel. Senior citizens, men, women, children, entire families, and innocent good people being slaughtered in horrific ways, and it continues. Peace between all people throughout the world is wanted by most people. Sadly, evil exists. Thank you again for watching and for taking an interest in history. Me too. I came back from Israel this past May, toured the Beaches of Normandy, going to many battlefields in Vietnam in March 2024, served in Germany for 13 months, and returning to Germany 10 days from today. Please pray for peace!!! Thank you!!!
Yes, I do believe that the guns are real using blank ammunition. Thank you for watching. Just this month I posted very interesting videos of my 14 day journey through Vietnam. From South Vietnam to the most Northern parts of Vietnam that you may find interesting. A private tour visiting the many historical battlefields.

They use blanks, meaning there is no bullet. Only powder that cracks loudly but that’s it. Perfectly safe. Thank you for watching!!
