More about the soap in this video:
I used 2 parts lavender to 1 part orange in this video. I recommend purchasing essential oils from Bramble Berry, Wholesale Supplies Plus, New Directions Aromatics, and Camden Grey.
Colorants used were Dark Red Brazilian Clay, Yellow Brazilian Clay, Purple Brazilian Clay, Rose Clay, and Natural Indigo. All of these I purchased at brambleberry.com.
The recipe used is proprietary to my business, but you can find many amazing recipes shared by Bramble Berry, Lovin' Soap, and the Nerdy Farmwife. Almost all of my soapmaking videos last year did have a test recipe. I have also shared a tallow recipe this year in the tallow soapmaking videos.
Check out The Natural Soap Colorants Guide by Jo Hausler.
Hey everyone! I had a surprise soap release last week (following another surprise major home repair đ) and there is much available on the website! moriversoap.com. As is typical, this is probably the last stock of 'regular' soaps for the year so be sure to stock up! Thanks for watching!
Love this soap!!! I love using spirulina in my soaps! Carrot powder and beet powder too
I just love the natural and clay soaps, so beautiful from start to finish and I also really love how the "purple" came out too.
Thank you! I am using a bar of the lavender orange right now and it really is a lovely purple.
Dude when you swirled it, it looked like orange peels and cinnamon and all I thought was Christmas
That's funny!
Absolutely gorgeous Holly, lovethe look of the natural colorants in these bars.
I love how the purple turned out and loved the top of the soap.
Thank you again for a beautiful soap đxx
Thank you Jayne!
love it, just gorgeous !
Thank you Pam!
It turned out so pretty! Itâs amazing how you poured the purple color first but it almost ended up in the middle. Drop swirls are so cool! đ
Thank you! It really had a great swirl!
I really wanted you to put a hanger swirl in there. But itâs amazing without! Good job!
That would have looked great too. Thanks!
Me too!
Love the clays and essential oils- thank you Holly
Thank you Cindy!
How beautiful đ I love lavender too đ
Thank you! It does smell so good.
I'm so impressed! Not even a single drop spilled on the tableđ„Č
Thank you! It happens every now and again.
Love love love it!!!
That purple colour is actually quite similar to the paint I just picked up for painting my bedroom
Thank you! Oh that will be so soothing!
The colors turned out beautiful! Huge lavender fan!
Thank you!
Turned out really great.
Thank you!
They're beautiful. My kind of soapđ
Thank you!
Those colours are beautiful
Thank you Susan!
Gorgeous as always!
Thank you!
This is beautiful Holly! I stumbled upon a beautiful purple for my last lavender batch, I used rose clay and activated charcoal only (doesnât seem like that would make purple but it does!) Try a ratio of about 3 parts rose clay to 1 part charcoal, I think I added just a touch more charcoal as I was mixing to slightly deepen the purple and it turned out really great.
Thank you! Oh wow, that sounds so interesting! I am going to have to try that!
Looove the colors đđ turned out beatuful
Thank you Lori!
Stupendously Simple!! What a nice soap!!đ„°
Thank you! I love it.
Very natural pretty soap
Thank you Nerina!
Gorgeous batch Holly I wouldâve loved to be able to smell these soaps yummo. Thanks you. đ
Thank you! They do smell so good!
Holy, I loe the look of the subtle, natural colorants in these bars. It really turned out pretty. I'm also sure it smells amaze balls, lol!

Jill
Thank you Jill! It does smell good!
So pretty, thanks for another beauty as usual.
Thank you Laura!
Love your soaps and videos; thank you for making then both.đ
Thank you Tamiko!
Very nice! đ
Thank you!
The purple turned out really well :)
Thank you Amanda! I would love to amp it up a bit but I am still pleased.
@@moriversoap The natural colourants I've experimented with have all turned out pretty well, some are quite muted, but pleasing all the same :)
Love Missouri. My family hails from Smithville. Thank you for sharing.
Oh fun. I have been to Smithville many a time.
Very nice!
Thank you Karen!
Holly, I use Brazilian purple and add White Kayolin to make my lavender color. Yours turned out beautiful!
That's great Lynn! Thank you!
Oh how pretty!! I didnât know Bud was in MO! Iâll have to check his shop out. Iâm in the market for a good loaf cutter, and I love to shop local!
Oh yeah for sure. Thank you!
Gorgeous
Thank you Rhonda!
Wonderful
Thank you Shakina!
I'm anxiously waiting until I can order soap and wax melts! Even though we've had some rain, which has dropped the temps a bit, it's still too hot for me to be comfortable ordering any type of wax.
Thank you Brenda! Hopefully your heat will break soon.
This natural one turned out great Holly!! đ Orange and patchouli dark is really good too, if you're a patchouli fan of course? đ Another one of my favourites is Spanish rosemary with peppermint supreme and a touch of Spearmint, it's so fresh! I like that one in a cp shampoo bar especially in the Summer but anytime really. I've been making cp shampoo bars for years, they make my hair so soft and my scalp feels like it's breathing! I just can't go back to regular shampoo in a bottle it feels like I dumped wax on my head! đŁ
Thank you Nancy! I do love patchouli and orange together. I bought some patchouli EO and keep forgetting to make a batch.
Love you products & you/your channel
Thank you so much!
Muito lindo Parabens
Thank you!
Beautiful soap Holly! I love Lavender goatmilk soap too đ„° I use Alkanet root powder and a bit of Brazillian purple clay to achieve the purple... not perfect but trying to be there đ maybe I will do a video and tag you once I put it up on my youtube channel! I am so grateful to you as I learnt so much from you through the videos.. thank you for all your hard work and bringing us along in your beautiful soaping journeyâŁïž
Thank you! I would love to see it!
@@moriversoap You are Awesome.. thank you for the encouragement đ
I love clay soaps â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž and I agree the natural purples always seem brown to me.
Thank you Jane! I will have to do more messing around to see if I can get a better purple.
Natural colorants can be hard sometimes. I have had trouble with alkanet looking grey (infused in oil). I know some makers can get a really deep muted purple. I have some purple clay I'm going to try to see if I can get better results. I think your purple turned out perfect for lavender!
Thank you! I think it's just a matter of learning how to tweak them in the right scenarios. I'm definitely planning to experiment more.
Holly had you looked into the EO information I gave u? His prices are the best I found so far and the quality is amazing. Just made patchouli and had to cut the amount to just 0.92 and itâs strong! I use matter tooth for my purple and paprika and turmeric for yellows and oranges đ, lovely soap Holly
I filmed this before you shared the info with me. I have looked at the website but it's a bit confusing. Do you have to request a price list?
@@moriversoap yes I have it let me try to send it to u
@clivia Ibanez Whatâs the name of the company? (If you donât mind sharing of course)
Hey Holly, natural colors or using Clays for colorants is challenging but workable and very organic looking. They can be a little Mute vs Vibrant as you think, depending on the color. you have to try a Indigo Blue :) its very pretty but can be challenging to get the color your shooting for, but so fun. oh P.S. I still have bars from the Rainbow collection I ordered last year LOL think I ordered too much. Have fun with it. Been Busy here too and still Love to watch your Videos, you have come a Long way :) :) :)
Thank you Karen! I used a bit of indigo in this batch but I need to play around with it on it's own.
Hi missouri I love you videos and it help me so much with my home made soaps but I thought orange and lavender essential oil will harden my soap base and so I haven't tried before am always using lemongrass since it's the only essential oil which doesn't harden kwick, am tempted to try đ€ lol these
Give them both a try I've never had either of those essential oils accelerate for me.âș
Thank you! I agree that you should give them a try. They are usually pretty easy going essential oils.
Does liberty naturals have Spanish lavender? I love their Bulgarian lavender.
I didn't see it on their website. Thanks for the tip on their Bulgarian!
I live in Carthage can you tell me how to get one of the cutters made?
Just check out Bud's Woodshop on Etsy. There should be a link in the video description.
â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž
Thank you!
This turned out so beautiful! What was the book you said about natural colorants?
The author is Jo Haslauer. I think this might be her website but I'm not sure without more research. naturalsoapcolor.com/collections/ebooks
Hi Holly, where do you buy your essential oils from. Loved the video.
Thanks! Some of the suppliers that I use are Bramble Berry, Wholesale Supplies Plus, New Directions Aromatics, and Camden Grey.
Looks scrumptious, Holly!! I'm in love with the yellow/orange colour!! Tell me, are you shipping internationally at all now?? I know you suspended it for a while, but I was wondering if you've resumed. I'm in New Zealand, and I'd love to get my hands on some of your soaps!! Wishful thinking on my part!!! xx
Thank you Charlotte! I haven't resumed shipping Internationally as of yet.
@@moriversoap ok Thank you!! :)
Hey Holly, this question is not soap related but you mention a split something. Is that different from an air conditioner? I donât mean to sound dumb.
Also we doing repairs to. A pipe behind our washer broke at the end of June and weâre finally into the construction finally. But itâs to late for me to do anything this year. Oh, well start a new year better. By the way love your soaps.
Oh gosh, I am sorry about that mess! I am so tired of the repairs. It's been ridiculous especially for a house that isn't very old. With the cost of supplies and business waaaaaay down, I am really struggling. The mini split is an air conditioner and also a heater. It has a compressor unit outside and then a unit inside on the wall. It's so much better than a window unit AC.
@@moriversoap I will be praying for you. Youâve got this!
What is the temperature that you soap at and your lye temperature đĄ
I soap at room temp. Typically anywhere from 65-75 degrees.
@@moriversoap ok your videos looks really liquid and pretty đ
Question. As your brand grows, are their scents you make because they are loved by a lot, but you actually donât like?
What a good question! Iâve always wondered that too!
There haven't been many really as I don't usually make things I don't like. I have taken a chance on some fragrances that I used for samples. I found I didn't like them but the customers loved them! One was my Christmas sample last year and also Bergamot & Honey with the rainbow release this year. I do not like either of them (more a decision made over time) but not enough to not use them again for my customers that do.
Maybe consider planting lavender?
Grow and distill her own? Unfortunately thatâs just not feasible. It would probably take 1/5 of an acre to grow enough,, then hours and hours of time to cut, distill and bottle it.
For sure that would be a fun experiment but definitely not a solution for reducing cost.
beautiful as always! wish you could make a corona-virus soap design.đđ€(kidding)
Haha thank you!
Hey! We do math alike â1, 2, 3 huhhâ đ€đ€Ł
LOL it wasn't my best work. I was thinking out loud and gave up. lol
The bars turned out pretty! Iâm sorry but when you finished swirling the top it looked like refried beans with melted cheese on top.
Thank you! We see all sorts of wacky things in soap.
