Are you juggling work, family, a side hustle and trying to fit your training in? Life is only getting busier and more complicated, so how can you get it all done and also get better at BJJ? JT & Joey have their own personal strategies for mapping out a schedule and making a plan to fit it all in. Can you do it all? "Less but Better" is a cornerstone of both their personal and training philosophies but they approach it differently. This discussion is in the name of helping you identify what is most important to you and then make a plan of action so you can be effective in all aspects of your life.

My juggling work does get in the way but I've found that all the ball action has made me focus on my north south game more

It certainly helps if your kids are rolling too. My oldest son rolls before me before the adult class. Open mats, my wife picks him up since we roll for three hours afterwards

The time management matrix from the book 7 habits of highly effective people is a great tool for organising your time too. Really helped me

It feels crazy at times. Work 9-5 Monday throught Friday, bjj three times per week in the evening on top of being an insanely clean person and having to cook dinner and make sure the dog is walked I don't get to bed until around midnight. Saturdays and Sundays are for conditioning and maybe finding some time to kick back

Married with no kids, work full time overnights doing security at a hospital, play in 3 bands, roll BJJ, work out. Trying to juggle is hell. I will be writing out a Schedule TONIGHT!

Would be interested to hear how you would recommend someone manage their schedule when it CAN'T be the same every week.
Some weeks there are fewer sessions overall than other weeks, some weeks you can't get to jitz as often but you can do conditioning from home instead etc.
Would you try a periodisation approach - drastically reducing or dropping an element training to advance something else temporarily?
Or would you try to keep all the same elements of your training happening every week - aiming for a fixed % of training time to be spent on each thing rather than x no of sessions.
I work full time and am a single parent. My training time varies greatly depending on my ex-husbands work /travel schedule and our fortnightly child care agreement. I need to be flexible but sometimes I feel completely unable to plan anything consistently.
