Wario ate too much garlic and spent the whole day farting, so they had to replace his role with another Waluigi. Fortunately, Waluigi was Wario's understudy and knew the part, so it still worked out well.
Waluigi was wanting for Luigi to have a small role but luigi denied, good thing Waluigi knew all the lines just in case.
Waluigi wanted Peach for the part too but she had to leave for a diplomatic meeting, luckily he loved the couple part and remembered the lines to heart but was always too shy to ask to play the part.

Waluigi was really holding out on mario showing up, however he was busy travelling the world or something... fortunately waluigi had the backup plan of playing the part himself and it turned out he was a natural.
