I've just started to dabble with the first scenario and I already think Gettysburg is my favorite of the series. Everything from the map and game components, to the updated rules and even the box is a big improvement in my opinion. Plus Gettysburg is just my jam (Along with Antietam). About that painting on the cover: It is in the same style as the famous Gettysburg cyclorama art, but it was from a different artist, Thure de Thulstrup. He was an immigrant originally from Sweden who came to the US after the Civil War and painted a number of military scenes. This painting of the third day at Gettysburg is quite popular and you all will note that it is also used by GMT games for the cover of The US Civil War game. Another notable Thure de Thulstup painting you might have seen is of the Battle of Shiloh.

Hi AJ! I like them both. Rick’s AMFS map has more detail and since it is hand drawn, there are a few places you have to squint and take a guess with the elevation changes, especially with slope vs steep slope. But it literally is a work of art. Worthingtons map is also really well done, and crystal clear what is in each hex. Both are winners! Take care…, - Paul

My game just arrived and the Movement Cost sheet for Pike says: “1/3 MP ROAD TO ROAD, IGNORE TERRAIN IN HEX IF INFANTRY IN COLUMN, MOUNTED CAVALRY, LIMBERED ARTILLERY.” So perhaps the designers already changed this.
Would love to try this but I already have AMFS and the budget is tight. Would love to hear thoughts on how they differ, or how they’re similar. Great vid and thanks for putting it out so quickly

Most excellent William! My one and only time at G was for the 125th anniversary back in 1987. Are some experience. My advice is to sign up for a licensed tour guide at the visitors center. I had a guide in the car with me and we drive all over the battlefield with a private tour. Really cool! - Paul
Great vid, chalk up a sale for Worthington games, I just ordered it. Interesting that melee rules have been added, and to retrograde back to the earlier titles!?
Hi Robert. As I mentioned, all the games going back to Version 1 of Terrible Swift Sword had a melee rule. This carried forward to the GBACW series, and was included in the Phoenix Enterprises “High Tide of the Confederacy” Gettysburg game. Originally, Grant thought a melee rule was unnecessary, but apparently he changed his mind and now includes it in the latest rules. This one looks like fun, so get it on the table when you get your copy! - Paul

I wonder if adding the melee rule might have been reconsidered to kinda speed the game up a little by making it possible to get more hits in per turn? Your vid was so good I went ahead and ordered the Seven Days Battles too. I have the first two in this series, but I've recently been preoccupied with Blind Swords. So you got Worthington 2 sales outta this vid! They need to put you on commission! Lol!
Hey Mr P! Take a look at what I did in my Shiloh play through videos. I marked casualties with small 6-sided dice as they happen, but do not do the strength adjustments and accounting until the end of the fire phase. Makes it faster and less likely to forget, at least for me. Hopefully you can get your buddy on board. Take care…. - Paul

Probably busy to the max getting out the kickstarter pre-orders. I’ve gotten all 4 of my games in the series via pledge, and have had no problems. And you save some money on preorder; I think my copy was $79. - Paul

i prefer this map to the Most Fearful Sacrifice one. Color scheme better and uncluttered.

Excellent video as usual Paul. I'm trying to sell this to my wargaming buddy but he says the tracking strength point losses is a negative.
