Yeah this movie is still the best movie I've seen this year. I loved the way the story played out. Zendaya and Timothee's performances were great. Got a lot of great memes out of it too. Good review man!

At first I wasn't happy how different Chani was compared to the book, but after thinking about it, I think it was necessary to have her as the voice of reason among a buch of religious fanatics.
The book gives a lot of little clues that Paul might not be the great messiah the Fremen believe him to be, a thought here, a sentence there, but it would be almost impossible to do it like that in a movie.
I think they needed someone to directly oppose him and the prophecy or the whole point might have been lost.
I agree, it did give great contrast, Javier's character was going really hard for him being who he said he was.It didn't make sense that everyone would think the same. These are the things that make me want to read the book.
Ive never seen og Dune film so I had nothing to compare it to. I just loved the execution, the creativeness and metaphors the movies displayed. The action could have been a bit more but I think that would have taken away from the plot. Great review

Great review man def agree about some fights feeling stale but the movie overall really stood out being the best movie of the year and while this movie was really long as crazy as it sounds i feel like it needs to be longer as the 3rd act felt a little rushed
Thanks YK! Yes the third was cramped. It's feeling muted to me, like they save all the good stuff for the battles showing how grand the tech,ships etc are!
