      Hello everyone at the Running Channel, I have tried a variety of different nutrition options and have liked cliff bars and chews, gels from Sis and high five. A variety of different flavours is always key, otherwise a whole race with the same flavour can be not good for the stomach!

    Hey guys! It's always interesting to hear your opinions on things like this. There are so many options out there and, when you're standing in the aisle staring at the multitudes of types, colours and flavours, it can be quite daunting so you just end up going with what you know (which may not be the best thing for you at the time). You don't often think about practical things like portability and ease of access (guilty of this myself) and end up trumping for the biggest bang in terms of kJ or carbohydrates. So, thank you for putting in the time to do this for us TRC!

      Hi Rosie, to be honest I really would use gels. Although you will have adrenalin to get you started I usually have one while waiting to begin and then at six and twelve miles. This way you should have plenty of energy all the way through but it may be worth bringing a couple extra, just in case. I do bring a bottle of Lucozade Sport with me but that's mainly because i hadn't used the gels much and it's a security blanket! Good luck and see you on the start line. Kevin

      @nosirrahm Před 2 lety

      Depending on the type of running you do, you may not need it. If in your training at HM speed, do you feel yourself lagging? There are lots of fat adapted runners that can tap that fuel for runs.

    My first half training starts soon and I’m excited to finally run a distance I get to have a gel for! It’s like I’m leveling up as a runner

    Great video. I have always been a bit scared of gels and just suffered through my long runs. Maybe it’s time to give them a go.

    Can't wait to start trying them all out on my training! This was super helpful, thank you :) Not sure how I feel about chewing while running though haha

    My training and racing experiences improved dramatically once I nailed my nutrition needs. I looove HUMA gels and Cliff nut butter bars! Those are my faves!!!💝

    Thanks for the video! I use Clif gels a lot, which I didn't see in the video. The blocks are tough to get open and out while in a race.

    Doing the Great North run next month, and struggling to find a good Energy source that is peanut free, hopefully my comment gets seen and wins a goody bag. Great content guys love it.

    My go too for running. I use the revvies strips, as they help give me energy. I also take cold cubes of roast potatoes I eat them on my long runs and they really help keep me going as I find gels upset my stomach but then again I have never used them long term

    Just done my first half marathon and definitely didnt fuel right during the race. This video has given me some alternative ideas that I can use in the future.
