Had to change the case on a 395 about 2 years ago. Ran into the exact same problems, we used loctite 648 retaining compound on oem new bearings. So far after 2 years no issues with the saw, just cut down a huge maple last week. Those Dukes chains, for the price, they are better than a lot of cheap chains. We use them on our dirty wood.
This to me is a very important video i just bought a used 395xp no clue condition as it has not arrived but if i need to go through the same process I will have a Huge know how now tks Richard
Good video. Its funny how you do stuff a certain way for years and don't think twice about it until you see someone do it a different way. I just finished editing a video where I install a stud in a 3120 with a sloppy case hole. I "knurled" the bolt rather than peening the case. Do you have any experience whether one way is any better than the other?

Good job for $400 Benjamin, good for another 2 yrs logging if lucky 🍀. 😊
Another nice build!
Nother great save!
Nice job as usual Richard
Pretty work as always! Well done!
Very nice work
I weld those holes shut and re-drill/tap them often if you want to save the OEM case.
I definitely thought about you Shaun. You do fantastic work. This was the quickest way I could turn it around as it’s his only big saw.
Nice work as always 😊
Rich nice and informative ❤❤❤

As long as it’s got a little grip it will be fine. This was just a spur of the moment thing. It was the first thing I thought of. Lol
I believe Aaron Lynch did and tryed those chains..recently
They look good! Can't wait
Thats what husqvarna saws do rattle all the screws out. Aftermarket cases are junk
