- I finally completed the build and body work of the Tamiya TC-01 Formula E GEN2 (Kit 58681). In this video, I do a short test run and show the body work results. I'm not a professional driver, just an RC enthusiast. Thanks for watching and don't forget to subscribe!

There are two parts to the video:
1. Test Run
2. Body Work
If you want to go straight to the test run, here is the timestamp/marker:
01:20
Parts I used:
Motor: Tamiya 10.5T Brushless TBLM-02S
ESC: Tamiya TBLE-03 (w/ fan)
Servo: MKS X5 HBL550LX (low profile)
Receiver: KO Propo KR-241FH
Battery: 7.2v 5000mAh NiMH
Custom LED tail light
A note on the surface condition, there's some fine powder or concrete dust because of all the construction going on so the tires don't have as much grip. I also think the tires aren't holding up as well to the power of the car (motor at 10.5T). I hope you enjoy watching this video! Thanks.
It runs so smooth and quiet. Thought the body would rattle around and make noise. But seems to run great. Awesome Build!!!
Hi d smooth. Thanks! I think it is relatively quiet and running on brushless helps. Thank you for watching.
Your work is impeccable. Great job!
Thanks, J Willis! And thank you for watching!
wow nice body work ,looking good whit the red tail light,,, 10,5 turn motor seems good fast
The shots are so high quality! Your videos are amazing keep making them!! :D stay safe
Thanks! Appreciate it. Stay safe as well!
Simply amazing. Good driving too.
I had to slow down the video.....
Thanks, Eleph Kwong! And thank you for watching :).
Great work ! Keep on making vids.
Thank you and thanks for watching the video :)!
i see many videos from your channel is rare to see you say you're only a enthusiast, you do a clean job rc, driving do more often at least you learn a lot
Thanks! I'm definitely new to this (2019) and I do drive the cars a lot, just don't have time to film them as I just enjoy driving them.
Great Job! Abo done!
Looks great, and with motor in the center, I bet it handles great!
Thanks again, David Anderson! It definitely handles quite well and has room for improvement with other upgrades.
I love upgrades
Close call at 3:56 😯
Haha! Yes that was a close call. I wasn’t aware of it until you pointed it out. Thanks for watching!
Your videos are amazing! You deserve way more attention for the quality of your vids. Stay safe🔥🔥
Thank you so much! Thanks for watching and I really appreciate it. Stay safe too!
Looks sick! Btw, what city in the background?
A other great video. Thank you. Do you usually go at some tracks to try your cars ?
Thanks, Marco Marco lynx! Unfortunately, there are no more tracks that are close to my area. And I have not gone in a long time due to the pandemic.
Amazing looking RC. Car. Where can I get one 🤔
Hi Ronnie He. Thanks for watching. I would think online RC hobby stores have some for sale?
So fast with nimh batteries even faster with lipos
Thanks for watching! So true
Great job, especially with the bodywork! I would buy your Formula E Gen 2 painted body. Would you make another and sell it?
Thanks, Benny! And thank you for watching. I Appreciate it, unfortunately, I don't know if I'll be making another FEG2 body soon-it's a little time consuming. The one I have is also beat up now since I've been running it.
@@MechanicAfterHours Your videos on the FEG2 were exactly what I was looking for. Your channel is great. I would've loved to see how you did the custom tail light. Again, great job on the build.
Benny, sorry for the delay, there might be a scene there in the build video at the end where you see the wire. It’s a single red LED and it a actually fits in the empty brake light housing, perhaps with a little tweak. It’s powered/connected to the receiver’s battery port
Do you know if you can run the formula 1 bodywork? Wings, body etc...
Thanks for watching, Jason Bugalecki. I’m not sure because the front part of the TC01 chassis is wider than the typical F1xxx chassis. But I haven’t tried it.
Where can i find rubber cement?
If you can’t find one you’ll still be able to screw things but just not as easy. I use a brand called Goo by Walthers. You probably could also use Shoe Goo. Depends where you are in globe. I’m in the US and just got mine from a model shop.
@@MechanicAfterHoursThank you for your quick response. I to am in the us. Goo it is.
Where abouts are you based in the world?
I'm in the US
I can see that (US) by the surrounding buildings' style on that roof. But your workplace(s) and building procedures and maybe some style and tool choices look more like Japan ;) - and I mean that in a good way. Do you have a connection here? Btw, Your videos are amongst the few ones on CZcams that I bother to watch on the big TV screen, as they are looking and sounding so nice. This is also how I imagine the genius expert builders and engineers at Tamiya imagine that their kits are/ should be built! (which is normally not the case in reality).
Thank you, Simon G! I appreciate it and the support :). Keeps my enthusiasm up. When I was very little, my grandfather told me to take good care of things, even human made items because most of it we just borrow from our planet, and it takes a lot of resources/waste to create. And so I have that lesson ingrained in me and when I work on builds I think about that lesson a lot, and the privilege to be in the hobby. I know it sounds so philosophical but it helps me keep my workstation clean, have a more organized process, have respect for the surroundings, and understanding the cost and value of the RC cars I build.
