Islam doesn't make silly mistakes like other fighters.
Everybody makes mistakes, this isn’t necessarily a mistake but Islam has a tendency to slip to his right, right before he goes for a takedown, meaning you can time a upper cut if you see him do this. Nobody is perfect, as GSP once said something along the lines of “a lot of people can beat me on my worst day, if they’re having their best day” (I’m sorry I tried to find the quote but I couldn’t find it anywhere so here is a paraphrase)
