Hilarious! We love these entertaining AND educational videos. Your balance of taking martial arts seriously in class and not too seriously in the videos is perfect!
Thanks for the feedback!
The flying dummy just made my day 😂😂😂😂
Thank You so much for explaining the art in a humorous and yet effective way... looking forward to more

Thank you very much. Been training for 50 years. Had the fastest and strongest kick all the way to being 45 years old. Then injured my right knee skydiving. WASNT bad but got worse over time. Eventually had to have it replaced. Broke my hip at 7 years old. Had no issue till I was 55. Now I struggle with arthritis in my left hip. Can only chamber my left leg at a much lower level. So kicks are difficult for me. Why I focus so much with my hands and short lower level kick. But your video did give me so tips on getting my kicks back. Thank you. I study Shaolin Kung Fu. Shotokan,JKD,and Aikido. Thanks for the kicking tips.
Thanks for the kind words! I feel for you, I also have arthritis in one of my hips along with torn cartilage on each side. My kicks aren’t what they were a few years ago. I’m looking into stem cell treatments. Good luck on recovering your knee!
@@tkdguide The knee is great. Hip sucks. And it’s because I’m to lazy to stretch. Why I started Yoga. Which is the foundation of all martial arts. Yeah. Getting old a bitch. I’m 68. But still in good shape. Just need to be more disciplined on stretching. But will more likely need hip replacement in 2 to 3 years from now. Lost cartilage in hip. Keep training my friend. It’s just good health.
Just finished working on your training techniques. Just what you pointed out has help me find those muscles that are very weak. Thank you. Really great instructional Video. My kick were just as fast as my hands. Billy Jack Kicks. Bruce Lee Kicks.
Sir, does karate help to reduce high BP and other health issues??? I am learning karate from 4 months... please reply sir ...I am 40
@@fitandlearn3888 it depends on your specific conditions and what is causing your BP. Working with a physical therapist in conjunction with your martial arts would be my advice. Best of luck to you!
I’m just coming back to TKD after many 40+ years and this is gonna be a big help to get back to where I was and beyond 🙏
ima kyokushin student in yellow belt, i learn alot from this channel, your tutorials are great and you are awsome! keep it up! OUS!
Very informative video on the improvement of various kicks. I had studied Moo Duk Kwon Tae kwon do for seven years... long enough to attain my 1rst Dan. I would have liked to continue, but my daughter's college education was a major priority at the same time, so I decided that her career was worth more than my training. I never really mastered the flying jump back kick due to back problems, but man! I could execute a sliding side kick and a 'horseback' kick that kept my opponents backed up during free sparring! Alas! Now I'm much too old for serious, physical aspects of martial art activity, but.... the knowledge is still within me!
Thank you :)
I have a blue belt exam coming up. Second tip certainly is something I have to practice more.
And to remember to stretch daily as I have never been flexible in my life... I have a hard time just reaching the chin, which to me is a huge accomplishment as I used to have a hard time just touching my knees with my arms. Taekwondo has not only helped me a lot for my health, flexibility, confidence but the exercise and routine has helped me get through loss.
Everyone should practice a martial art, it's hard to fathom the amount of good it brings us.
Awesome work Sensei.. Thank you.
your videos are fun and easy to learn thank you very much for uploading these types of fun and educating videos
I’m going for my second degree and this actually helped me. Thank you!
Thank you for the advises ❤
I do kyokushin karate, but your videos are awesome. Ty so much for your didactic material
Thank you for the feedback!
Same brow , what belt are you now 😁🤔
Lots of love from india looking forward for your videos😊
Well done Master
I already could tell by the thumbnail that this was going to be good because I saw the foot back for the correct one

Thank you for the tips, will incorporate into my daily workouts!

Your right 👍 the body is your weapon
Omg thank you so much!!!!
@ The intro, I only have less than a couple months of experience with TKD when I was around 13 in the mid-'90s.
I plan to go back to it and develop mastery.
A few years before 2010 I participated in a Shorin Ryu Karate dojo I was interested in joining and at some point while I was struggling to do the FORMS I was doing for literally the first time ever and I overheard a potbellied "master" coaching a little boy after I casually did a back kick that was pretty much a "Scorpion Kick" but straight back, "If he can do it, it MUST be easy."
No one said anything positive to me, it was only years later when I thought of that as a backhanded "compliment".
That was the LAST time I went there.
I looked at the intro and even I don't kick like that and even I would be able to do the kick at 0:09.
Then again maybe I'm an OUTLIER/exception.
Oh how silly of me, being able to do something ONCE isn't what matters, it's doing it 10K times that count.
I love and practice GojuRyu... but you make great videos. Kicks are kicks everywhere!!! Thanks Master!! Arigato!!!
Thank you so much
Your knee most of the time always chambers straight up in front of you. You never go side on. That comes after the initial chamber of the knee, as you then start to straighten the leg. A side kick still has the chamber of the knee come straight up in front of you, then you twist the hips as you straighten the leg.
Tysm❤
Very very nice! 😊
Nice work broo
Love it thx aI'll follow you trying to learn to train with my 7 year old he just started classes and I want to learn along with him
Nice, it’s a great family activity!
0:10 The way the mannequins' legs flew out from the impact 😆
Merci👍🏻👍🏻👏👏
He is so good😊
Sadly that you don't do your videos with spanish subtitles...
Excellent technics, friend.
Practice, practice, and as much as possible
No pain no gain!
Damn dat BJJ black belt just being send flyin’ 🤣
Merci avou 🎉🎉🎉
thanks
This guy teaches better than my sabumnim. Feels like learning from Indian youtuber after sleeping through my class
Hey can i learn martial art at home....
@@harshitaswami3816 U could, but I wouldn't rlly recommend cause there still r things u can only learn from man to man coach. Most of all, u could hurt urself if u rn't taught right. Find a proper dojo near ur house, it shouldn't be that expensive.
Thanks SiR 🌹🙏🌹
I always used to chamber for the roundhouse kick with my toes out😂. But if I hit right below my toes, it’s a turning kick I believe
Nice👍
Thank uu
Free stuff! Even an old Karate guy like me likes TKD stuff if it's free. Guess I'd better like and subscribe.
Is it bad that I earned black-red only from doing forms and not my actual kicks, i was 12 when i got ot btw
Thx, but does this also help with my hamstring flexibility?
Very nice 👍🙂
Finally my kids know how to do it and now they can defend they're self when they get bullied
Yo another tip focus on a part from which you are attacking like you r punching so focus on your hand and see the difference.
😊
what is yr belt
I am 65 years old I would like to thank you for sharing your wisdom in the martial arts I’m training in tang so do for over four years now I am not able to make to classes during the week because of my work schedule but have used your tips for my continue training at home.
Thank you for the kind words. I have some free follow along routines for the Tang Soo Do forms on my site www.tkdguide.com that you might be interested in.
the ENERGY you transmit went through the screen ha ha ha
Wow ❤❤❤
Best advice. Just get up from the couch and move your ass in a Taekwondo dojo and learn from the master 3 -5 years in learning process 4 - 8 hours per week it's a great start. Watching videos in CZcams it's great for an advanced learner but someone who wants to start, it's better go to the tkd dojo.
Ye beta h tumhara
God bless
it actually use full for karate too
I always kick in a wrong position but now I have new the secret.

Bro I train 2-3 day and I can do high kick and tornado kick
Do you have a series of videos so we can train at home?
I have a lot of at home content on my website www.tkdguide.com.
If you can do it right slowly, you can do it right fast.
So much truth in this. I always start new students with slow motion techniques. It’s amazing how much faster they learn that way.
Can You taught me every round of kicks in taekwondo
Well I am not fexible at all, like i am unable to raise legs that high for side kick (no lateral fexibility)...can someone plz suggest me something ? Should i consultant a doc or try to improve my fexibility with exercises ?
I have a free exercise routine on www.tkdguide.com you could give a try.
i like what you said about chambering your kicks especially the side kick. but to do exercises for learning how to do a side kick and chamber your legs they are excellent for someone who is young in shape and has been doing it for a while. but not for someone who is lets say 40 years old and a beginner. especially if they are not naturally that coordinated. also the whole Idea of hitting with your foot is generally not that good. you would be better of hitting with your shin and learn how to transfer lots of momentum into your kicks than try you kick someone with a foot especially if you are not wearing shoes. you do hit with your foot when delivering a side kick or a front kick. but front kick is an important tool for measuring the distance not for doing lots of damage. with sidekick you do kick with your foot (either the ball of your foot or more often the heel depending on your range) and yes I would love to have a good sidekick and yes it can do lot of damage (although not necessarily more than the roundhouse) but relaying only on it is not effective on its own.
It’s better not to comment if what you have to say is this disjointed.
@@tkdguide I suppose this is your polite way of saying i should shut up. as far as disjointed well you might have a point i spent most of my life speaking English but it is not my native tongue but what I'm saying makes perfect sense even if it is lots of thoughts in one comment.
@@bartangel4867 it’s not your English, it’s that you are bouncing from one topic to another and I honestly don’t know what conversation you are trying to have.
@@tkdguide firs thing i said is that your exercises are very good for someone who is already in good shape coordinated and flexible but will not be helpful if someone is not (much like with most Teakwondo kicks)
the second point I made is that hitting with your foot is not generally a good idea at less you are doing front kick which is used to control distance not deliver damage or a sidekick which can deliver significant damage but you can't rely on only one move if rest of them are ineffective (such as roundhouse with the foot instead of the shin)
@@bartangel4867 Ok, are you addressing these comments to me, the creator of the video?
🥋💪
When i chamber knee i feel cant go high it stay in middle ...why ? Is it my anatomy of hips?
Lie down on the floor with your back flat and see how far you can stretch it up. Is it higher?
@@tkdguide if i lie on ly back flat i can lift legs 90 degree or a bit more but if i lie down on my side i cant luft legs over 45 degree.
@@samsam-nh9xi I would guess you have some tight muscles and perhaps some strength in balances.
@@tkdguide strenght in balance? What to do ....i did strenght exercices and static dynamic 3 years ago ...now i feel my self tired especially my hips and hamstring.....what to do with strenght in balances?
@@samsam-nh9xi if you have an opportunity to meet with a physical therapist, they might be able to give you the targeted exercises that will help.
He's good but you only tighten just before impact or you are too rigid. Not a negative critique but probably worth mentioning so you don't wear yourself out or flag your attacks . To fight is to look less than you are. Relax and get used to combat. Be aware that there are other ways to do a side kick or roundhouse that are faster and do not flag your intentions. This man knows this and has probably uploaded options or will. If you want to be an effective fighter, do not rely on Taekwondo alone. It is awesome for your legs but yo must have a ground game, such as BJJ and implicitly you must know how to box. Once you get in close your hands and wrestling skills will save you. If your life is in danger, have no boundaries . Do not be afraid to fight, you have nothing left to loose and your life might depend on it! Also, maybe study some Kung foo witch is very much based on rounder techniques and thus... very good for understating yourself. Be aware that most people do not know how to fight, angry people are often drunk. Practice studiously and you will usually come out on top, regardless of stature. Avoid fights, but stand up for yourself and others that cannot defend themselves . Do not create problems when you can just walk away.
True 💪
i train karate, remeber to tighten your fist when an opponent kicks. Too many broken fingers because people had and open hands
Varma kali 😌
I don’t learn taekwondo but i can do hook kick similar to nat hearn 😮
Also tightness is not a full picture for me I was always too tight. when I became looser my punches greatly improved. you should tighten your arm only when you make the contact with the target. while doing a side kick it makes more sense to be little bit tighter but also latter on not at the very beginning of the kick.
Is there someone you are talking to?
@@tkdguide I don't know if this is just a question or once again you telling me that no one wants to hear what I have to say. but it doesn't matter to me if you don't want to hear it I will say or not say whatever I wish nor do I really care if you think I'm a waste of space because if that is your opinion then your opinion doesn't matter.

hey, what is '' moo sool do '' ?
If you translate it directly it would be something like “the way of martial skill”. My instructor uses it as an umbrella term for all the martial arts content that he teaches.
0:10....🤣🤣🤣
Good chamber = a good hard "make ya wanna call your mom type kick"!😂
Hey what. Abouttheslowpiozionyea!
Is it true that TKD kicks come from savate?
I’ve seen a Jessie Enkamp video suggesting this is possibly the case. I couldn’t tell you though.
They higher kicks seem to have started once Gigō Funakoshi witnessed the French military using Savate when the traveled to Japan. Prior to that most kicks were lower kicks.

TKD : Nice martial arts to break thin boards 7 feet high, otherwise completely useless in real-fights/mma
Yeah, but breaking boards seven feet in the air is what gives you women and lambos so I’m going with with that option.
Where do you think those kicks in MMA come from traditional martial arts
Any relations with Greg Doucette?
should we maybe stretch to?
No. Stretching summons demons.

You can never get a BJJ Guy like that. BJJ is way complex than Taekwondo. Chances are you might end up in deep sleep

I am sorry to say TKD is the easiest form to defeat. As Bruce Lee said Kicks over the waist are only for show. I used to enjoy fighting TKD fighters.
Let’s be honest, you aren’t sorry.
