- Known as the La Carrera Panamericana, this endurance race features up to 100 vintage racecars starting down in southern Mexico in October to race nearly 2,000 miles back up north. It’s seven days of racing, around 350 miles of speed stages, over closed, public roads through some of the most beautiful country north of the equator.
Scott Eatmon of Eatmon Racing Engines in Wilson, NC, had a customer involved with this race who came to Eatmon for one of the shop’s Dodge NASCAR engines.
That's a stout 365 on pump gas. 750hp is all you could ask for really.
Here in Australia we have Higgins race heads that make a SB2 head that gets close to 900hp on pump gas but I think that engine was over 440ci from memory.
750hp on 365 is a nice big number.
The newest R07 Chevy and the Ford FR9 are just slightly more powerful than the Chrysler R5P7. Slightly like 10 ft-lbs, that is a competitive edge in Cup racing. Seems crazy but that's how competitive it is. The oddity of making all cars equal in every way is DISGUSTING and why the Cup Racing fan base is vanishing without a trace.
Previously we weren't just watching one race. Every race was affected by a series of races.. Driver skill race 1, Chassis Builder skill race 2, Engine Builder skill race 3, and pit crew skill race 4.
That was a grand total of 5 races, all in different places and some changing hands, others remaining the same. That fifth 5th race was the culmination of the 4 individual races combined. That's excitement and surprises coming out of nowhere.
Nah, too random. Nobody knows what is happening. Let's make it all about the driver! They don't have to be 1100hp at 10,200 rpm anymore. Too obnoxious and radical. Slow the engines down or gear them to redline limiting top end! Wow, this is great 👍🏼👍🏼. We'll make ALL the chassis identical! All the engines hogtied by an itsy bitsy 680cfm? doddle boddy instead of an 1150cfm throttle body with a 2 inch spacer! Great 👍🏼 we'll make all the pits easier. Simpler chassis with less work. All about the driver! So much excitement watching cars All in a row like a freight train 🚂 toot toot! Wow, excitement.

Sweet as pie if you could get to street legal standards would kick ass like a Buick V6 Grand National just no turbos that why they are hiding this engine
Love to see canted valves in a Mopar head that fit a production block, one set for small block and a set for big block
The old Poly 318 had a canted valve head from the 50's. Production costs & weight killed it.
I like that old "poly-sphere" engine!
Mopar made a big block one after the Hemi ended production. Was killed off before it made production. I think the coming emission regulations killed it.
Who sells these engines in the states and how do I go about getting one??

not really, i too have a r5p7 a step above this, drysump, i paid 9k for 841 hp and 567tq.. i already had the drysump system..
