It is on the Angola's Atlantic coast. Its current renaissance is a truly inspiring success story.
In recent history, the center of decades of conflict, the start of the 21st century has seen a massive boom in construction in Luanda, where peace and stability have attracted numerous foreign companies to invest in offices in the city.

Please don't. This documentary is romanticized. The economy is very inflated, criminality and poverty rates keep getting higher, the public education and health system is flawed and its still one of the most, if not the most expensive city in Africa. And this is just Luanda, the rest of the country is mostly undeveloped. If you're rich, then you're good to go. If not, stay there, South Africa is great. I wish i had your luck.

As I wrote to someone here in the comments:
I see that most African Americans or other black people outside of Africa, when they think of visiting or returning to Africa they always think of English speaking countries and yes Ghana is always the first country that comes to the conversation. Unfortunately this notion is not good. There are lots of awesome places in Africa, other than the English speaking Countries, if fact as a person who travels through different countries in Africa I can say that some of the best people and cultures in Africa are from non anglophone (English speaking) Countries, to learn a new language is not as hard as people think, in fact can enrich a lot in the migrating experience. Besides that there is this thing called internet which makes everything easier. So remember, you don’t all have to go to Ghana, there are other options with great people, great places, great food, great cultures and lots of resources (riches) waiting for you. We need your know how. We are waiting for you. Spread this word.

Don Bsweet It is a line of descent, one of many lines and African Ancestry did my DNA test as well as AncestryDNA when determined that a descendent of an enslaved African, not a slave, has a confirmed line of decent - again one of many. The Angolan ancestor through Bantu migration of time left Nigeria originally as Igbo and through this migration to Angola over many 100s and 1,000 of years evolved into the Mbundu people of Angola. So what AA determined through their testing is that I was Mbundu with Igbo roots which speaks to the Bantu migration

It may have been easier for Alex Haley if he had access to DNA 🧬 research to find his Afrikan homeland in The Gambia 🇬🇲 (Kunta Kente) because despite opinion, DNA remains unchanged for the most part which also identifies Afrikans on the continent that share a common ancestor with us. I also took part in a National Geographic’s Geno Project which determined that my earliest male ancestor lived in the Horn of Africa or Rift Valley 70,000 years ago so my argument isn’t based upon what I hope to believe or accept but in a sense attempting to grasp the hands of my ancestors

Hi Angola. something unusual got my attention about Angola. besides learning geography in school about this beautiful country. while working on a night duty I stepped out of my office and certainly heard a sound of a flight flying south west through our city, Nairobi some minutes past midnight. I was interested to know the origin and destinations of that flight. I quickly googled flight radar 24 only to learn the flight was air Angola destine Luanda from Hongkong. its now a month and i do ensure during clear skies i must watch as it passes here. I love Angola I love Luanda, Catumbela, Namibe, Cabinda etc. someday i gonna visit there.

Although our capital city is looking good these days, the city renovation was sadly made at the cost of innocent families who's houses were destroyed in order to make space for better buildings so our city can be "postcard ready for tourists", these families were relocated to a remote municipality and put into tents "temporarily" until they'd receive new homes in that poor neighbourhood. They waited ten years and only few of these families got their homes 2 years ago, it's sad to think that some of these people sadly passed away before having an actual roof over their heads again. And all for what? To make the city aesthetic for tourism while we can barely afford to eat? Scary.
