  • Ian Royle reviews the Peugeot 306 Rally as he takes it for a drive and puts it's Rally credentials to the test. As well as testing it's souped up sporting features, he also test it's practicality for everyday use.

Rather strange comment suggesting it was a bad thing that the car has 6 gears as you can't use them all in town. When in town if you don't need to use the higher ratios, just dont use them. It's hardly a negative that they are available. If you only use a car in town then maybe this one is not for you and the 1.4 306 or even a 106 would have been a better choice of 90s hatchback?

a 16kg weight saving is absolutely nothing! Like a lot of manufacturers now it's just a marketing ploy usually to extract more money whilst giving us less. Stick with a regular GTI-6: DCG1: David Liburd on cars (Peugeot 306 GTI-6 car review)
