I got to go to a Conan taping in 2004 and Dax was the guest, shilling for Without a Paddle. I don't know what he was on at the time, but he was definitely out there and I remember that Dax got banned from Conan because of it. Good to see how much better he's doing 15 years later and that his exile was revoked.
He's actually talked about that on his podcast. He was heavy into booze and meth at that time. Without a paddle was his first huge paycheck and he went into a spiral after it.

Of more influence would be the dude with the combined roles of _writer, director, executive producer and star._ Dax's creative DNA is all over that film. He could have disowned it afterwards, or made excuses for it - he didn't.

Holy crap makeup. Either Dax was sick and they needed to darken him up, or his face is melting. I've never seen so much highlight on a set of cheekbones.
Charlock it’s way more noticeable on Late Late with James. I first that it was bad makeup/contouring but twice in a row....yikes.
Dax Shepard once was so bad off on drugs that he got banned from the Conan show. Got his life together and now a regular on Conan.

Oh, it's just an innocuous invitation to try out a "Sleep Number" bed? I mean, that bed seems very nice, and both Dax and Kristen seem like total charmers, so even in a platonic situation, that sounds like an amazing time.
With audio only podcasts, why is there a need for sponsors and financial support? Or is it a hosting cost when you get large volume of traffic/downloads (like when you have a website and you need to pay for throughput when it hits high traffic)?
Extra money is fine and all, but I get a sense that some podcasters appear to make it sound vital. No?
P.S. This isn't about this particular podcast, but in general. And Conan reading ads mid podcast IS annoying. Rogan does it only at the start where one can skip it easily.
