Working in the shipping industry aboard merchant vessels has made me oblivious tot the fact that the average person doesn’t know that those jump suits are standard issue for merchant sailors on most ships. They allow you to keep the dirt and grease off your under clothing for when going in lot and out of living areas to or from work areas. Furthermore, the orange coloration is to make you stand out if you need to work on the deck in low visibility or god forbid fall overboard and need to be located and rescued.
@@blackdiamond5091 you're wrong, they're chill because they didn't knew the hell out of wires can't climb those ship, those wire's have electricity to zap the pirates who is climbing those ships

Razor wire is the most common pirate deterrents on shipping vessels. They are light weight and easily stored when not in use while being relatively quick and easy to set up when needed as well as being extremely effective. I’ve had to privilege to watch many ships undergo anti pirate drills and it’s always a sight to see. Barbed wire and fire houses go a long way towards making your ship unassailable.
Some merchant vessels do indeed have some forms of defense aboard them. The barbed wire being used to keep boarders off deck. Fire hoses to push away approaching boats and knock off climbers. When entering dangerous waters ships may take on mercenaries or soldiers to serve as guards. And container ships now even have decoy containers that are actually missile pods to be used for defense (although these are highly regulated). It also isn’t uncommon for a ships master to have 1 or a few firearms in a safe in his cabin for defense when needed. But you can also see from the reaction if the crew just how u concerned they really are at the prospect of these pirates.
Lol I read something that said they can’t bring guns on because their on international waters so they have to spray the pirates with strong water hoses
@@MrBanana2000no they aren't prisoners, its the merchant navy boiler coat that bosuns wear. And the barbed wire you see is a safety measure taken by a merchant navy ship when it crosses an area infested with pirates so that they can't climb up

Because while at sea the captain is the law but upon entering coastal regions you are required to announce any firearms and in a lot of cases it comes with extra steps to docking and clearing customs. Many ship masters do in fact have one or a few firearms looked away onboard in case of emergency but with heavily controlled access. The truth of the matter is that giving untrained individuals forearms at sea often isn’t a great idea. The first pirates were really just sailors given guns to defend their ships.
