Landon was not only a great player, but a great leader. Played with all heart and fearless! We’re missing that today. Pulisic isn’t living up to his potential. The other young guys should watch and learn, this new generation will hopefully do big things! USMNT has never been the same FOR ME since Landon left.

his assist total is more telling. best overall attacker CONCACAF has had to date. people often forget that Landon literally had Pulisic's ceiling when he was young, signed by Leverkusen when he was 19. difference was how young players weren't played in the Bundasliga then, as well as overall attitude about Americans has shifted since then as well

There were a few players better than Donovan in the concacaf, but no doubt he was the best player for the US

Donovan is the only concacaf player to reach the 50/50 mark of goals and assists for his country, he's won more Gold cups than any player ever, and has more goals in the GC than anyone ever. Oh and he has the most goals in the World Cup from any Concacaf player ever, I am interested in who could possibly compare to him. Guys like Carlos Ruiz and Carlos Pavon were good but they were no Donovan

That is a good point in so far as what is meant by best ever. I am glad we agree that he has accomplished the most. I take accomplishments into consideration; I view him as a complete player, one who can score goals when need be or provide the killer assist, as demonstrated by his fairly even goal to assist ratio.
I know that Sanchez was a great player, but I consider Donovan to be better, however, at the end of the day it is somewhat subjective to say who is the best. Out of curiosity in your opinion do you consider any other concacaf player to have been better than LD?
Well actually you can really say who's better because they play in different position. Rafa marquez is a shout out, as he has won two champions league titles and several la liga titles. One of Barcelona's best defenders

I find this insulting to other greats like mágico gonzalez, Dwight Yorke, wanchope, hugo Sanchez, cuathemoc ect.ect. Smh -_-
None of those guys scored as many World Cup goals as Donovan and only Hugo Sanchez went as far in a World cup as Donovan, although it was made easier for Mexico in that tournament as they were given a favorable draw by being the host nation. Those players were all good, but give credit to Donovan where credit is due.
