Stockholm - the summer night city..❤ It looks like they're walking the streets in daylight, but it's actually nighttime. Summernights in Scandinavia are just magic!
@@darkiee69 well that IS night time, lol. most nightclubs there close at 3/4 AM. As a swede I just wanna say that is exactly what it looks like in the summer nights
They're that iconic they even have a museum dedicated to them. Along with award winning movies, theatres shows and tribute acts. They will still be huge another 25 years from now. They really do have a legacy
Or try "From A Twinkling Star To A Passing Angel". Its a demo medley of how "Like an angel passing through my room" came to be. It's AMAZING to hear how they worked!!
You need to react to "As Good As New," "I've Been Waiting For You," and "My Love My Life" by ABBA. None were singles, but are incredible tracks. Some of their greatest songs.
Don't know if i wrote this already, but i remember hearing about Kurt Cobain (Nirvana) loving ABBA so much that he blasted "Dancing Queen" in their tour bus before every gig, because it got him in a certain mood and connected him to beauty, and as we all know his style of music was a bit different lol, so yeah, no shame in loving ABBA, they're legends
I believe they were underated, they never got their proper recognition as their giant talent deserved...although their music is timeless, which is proven by how their music still lives on and prosper many years after they stopped playing as band,in various collection cds,big sucess musicals etc. Their music never dies, they are too good to die.
ABBA was very popular all over the world from 1972 to 1982 with Eight albums and a Ninth album that was never completed before the group officially disbanded.
This stunning uber happy and catchy video and song is very, very good..and its my hometown of Stockholm...which for me doesnt make it worse, quite the opposite...Its a great song, maybe one of the more known, but for sure one of the better,in batch of extremely good songs that is ABBAS entire batch of songs...its so goood..
Bangin’ bass line _again_ . Check out the live version of this song at Wembley. It’s on YT. It’s _so_ worth your time. And it’s much longer than 3 minutes! 🖤🇸🇪
Now that you're getting into somewhat less famous ABBA songs, I'm still amazed you haven't gotten around to "Gimme, gimme, gimme" yet. Well, all the more fun when you finally get to it :)
ABBA were and are brilliant. It's good that you've found them. I was lucky enough to grow up with their music and I still love it today. Do remember how long ago ABBA were recording their music - they last released a song in the early 1980s, though there are rumours of some new material being released soon. Also, take into account their ages. At their birthdays this year (2020), Agnetha will be 70, Björn will be 75, Benny will be 74 and Anni-frid will be 75.
Critics underrated them. Fans loved them. Sadly the group got criticized for being too "commercial", clean cut, and unoffensive. Looking back, I think they had to be, in order to get their music notices outside the country. But whatever commercial qualities they displayed, they also had artistic talent. THese weren't just 4 people answering some ad to fill a part in a band. THey were 4 people, 2 couples, doing what they thought sounded good to THEM. They knew their craft produced a quality product, not to demonstrate or make social commentary, as much as to ENTERTAIN everyone that listened. And we, the fans agreed. It wasn't until the 90s, critics praised them and people realized the influence they had on music.
Silja - Line logo ! Still one of the places to have good time on a cruise if under a different label. :) Can't help thinking whose taxi has been immortalised in this video. One of their best songs from the latter era, meaning after the "Arrival" album. There was this period when several songs combining rock / pop and disco apperared. This, "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" by Rod Stewart, Rolling Stones' "Miss You" and others.
How about listening to Honey Honey by ABBA. That is a real classic and shows them in their earlier days and the girls as stunning as ever. It is a fact that Agnetha had intimate relations with a fan that kept following her and knocking on her door!Eventually she let him in,i just wish it was me!!
Interestingly of all the ABBA songs in their back catalogue, this was the most problematic in the studio and Benny & Bjorn were never happy with the finished result. You should do a reaction video to live version from Wembley 1979 - it’s on CZcams and knocks the studio version of the water
ABBA were never happy with this song. Agnetha thought it was too repetitive and Benny and Björn, mixed, mixed and remixed the track and were never entirely happy with it. The live versions from both 1979 and 1981 are both really good.
Thanks JBL, this is another favourite.
