My friend was a surrogate she did it to help those who can't have kids but I asked her how hard is it ? And she looked a me was silent and cried she said when she brings a baby into this world that she carried for 9 months then suddenly can't hold or see the baby. She said it broke her heart. That connection she had with the child she can't have it broke her to pieces. February of last year she was diagnosed with cancer and hasn't been well and all she wanted was to have kids herself. She is such a beautiful person and I feel her pain.

A traumatizing birth experience can really affect a mother’s ability to bond with the baby. Now as it seems, that is not only true for women birthing their own children, but mothers who experienced the surrogates birth as traumatizing. And unfortunately people can’t really influence what their brain and body registers as traumatizing. So I just hope she gets the help she needs and doesn’t try to tough it out.

I don’t know if this will be “traumatizing” for him to see in the future. I think this is a relatable issue for other women to see who have their children through surrogacy or adoption.
I thought Kloe was just being honest personally. Women who carry their children naturally have a nine-month head start to bond with their child. So, there’s a fear and insecurity there that can make some women feel like they are already being less-than as a mother (which isn’t true).
I haven’t been watching the new seasons though. So maybe she’s saying additional things there that could be traumatizing to the child. But I didn’t hear anything in this video that I felt like a child couldn’t process safely at age 20 or so.
The Kardashians will not be relevant to the child’s age group by the time any possible middle school bullies come his way where they would try to tease him with this clip or something. Our hormones are the one that cause that bonding and not everyone got that stop being judgmental. I can relate I struggled with bonding with my son when his father abused me and took me thru so much during the pregnancy! My son came out looking just like him and it was a trigger for me I couldn’t connect I got so angry and prayed about it because it wasn’t normal for a mother to feel this way towards her child! I had to come to terms he didn’t ask to be here and I had to learn to look past the hurt and continue to be his mom! Trust me the journey to redemption wasn’t easy! It’s an day to day healing process. I hope she come to terms and bond with him and be the best mother she can be he will make her really proud one day!

She is struggling to connect because this baby is conceived in a stage in her life with Tristan where he repeatedly hurts her. You bought a child to try to keep your man, then ripped that child away from the only mother he’s ever known AND took that mother’s child from her. She went thru the nine months of effort to create this life, her hormones bonded her to that baby, their cells cross-pollinated; she is that boy’s mother and he is the surrogate’s son. “But it’s not the surrogate’s DNA.” Doesn’t matter; the process of birth leaves an irreversible imprint on BOTH the mother and child. You may be that boy’s genetic mother, you may grow up to care for him, but that surrogate was the only one he loved. That surrogate was the one he needed. He doesn’t know your voice, he doesn’t know your scent.
The fact that her and Tristan were in the worst place when this baby was conceived is probably the greater issue here. She’s not connected because she and Tristan were NOT connected.

That is just not true. Some people take way longer to form a bond. Plenty of women who have cared for their child since day one didn't feel a bond until much later. Some never felt it. Khloe's problem is Tristan and the way she thought having another kid would keep him around.

Sorry to sound insensitive. But I don't think surrogacy is fair on the baby. Multiple embryos are created and whichever one they choose is used. If you believe life begins at conception, then those embryos not used are also a life. Then the feotous is carried by one mother who gives the baby all the blood, nutrients etc. For the nine months. Then at birth that baby is taken away from that mother who carried the child. How do we know what impact this has on the baby? The baby has no rights or choice. It's far more ethical to adopt a child who needs a loving home. Khloe sounds so dumb talking about surrogacy like she didn't think it through. I feel sorry for her son.

Your comment is just not true. Not every mother feels bonded to their child just because they carried them. Some mothers who adopted feel instantly bonded to their child on the other hand. Pregnancy doesn't mean you form a "tremendous spiritual bond" automatically. Those sorts of lies make women who do not experience that bond feel ashamed to speak up and get help. Some mothers take seconds to bond with their child, some take months, and some years. As for Khloe, Tristan is the problem, not the surrogacy.

Agreed. Unfortunately finding babies to adopt is hard, with 35 families +/- wanting to adopt them, even babies with disabilities. Ab*rti*n as a woman's "choice" has caused this to happen. Why not help the woman in a unplanned pregnancy carry her baby to term and find a wonderful family to adopt OR parent the child herself? That's what pregnancy resource centers can help them to do.

This honestly upsets me. Not only because of long term affects, what happens when the child gets older and reads this, but geesh he's a baby. I felt connected to my nieces son when he was born, I held him and kissed on him like he was mine -- same with my granddaughter. Also many years ago when I was a teenager I used to watch the kids during service at the Lutheran church I attended. There was a little Caucasian girl that came in every Sunday named Heather, cute as a button, big green eyes. . I sat and held her, hugged her kissed her goodbye lol. . I'm sure the other kids were like "what about me" but I felt so bonded with her. Her parents could even see that, as soon as they came in they were looking around to hand her off to me. Seems abnormal to feel this way to me and I admit I'm rather appalled. I could possibly see if Tristan had beat her or there was some awful abuse, but he was a serial cheater, she knew and took him back before finally cutting it off. Ok we've all play the fool, but she made a huge decision to have another child in spite of all that and now we have to hear her whine about how she doesn't feel connected?

Love is love. When you receive a gift of surrogacy , how can you complain about it. You had the resources to welcome a child into your life. Your child asked for none of the drama. Push aside all the minutia of why your child is here, how you feel and simply love that child. Like the kid will now see his mom wasn’t that excited, which is understandable given the situation, but also, it’s not the kids fault. Why? It happens to a lot of moms at the beginning, but it is still not very much talk about because they are scared that society will judge them. It doesn't mean they don't love the kid, it is just a state of mind at the beginning, accepting of what is going on, system overload. I can imagine its a different experience bn the mother of a surrogate baby. They dont tell you so many things ~ Energy is real and being grown inside a belly thats not ur mother out in the world is different ~ there’s science to it all. The babies heartbeat links up w the mother carrying the child and the emotions she experienced during pregnancy are felt as the baby develops feeling the movement of your growing baby is bonding for both how ur hormones and body change the emotions you travel thru during pregnancy is a whole thing for you and the baby…self compassion for the journey is key for Khloe. She’s so strong and a great Mom/Auntie always has the gurls w her ~ give it time and stay True🥰🤲🏽💕 to yOu …your hearts know their way to one another~ thats your little Sun. It took me 3 days to bond with my daughter ..cause she didn’t look how I thought she would after all those months …and she was a total stranger. Once I was breast feeding and saw family features it came to me so hard… it was an overwhelming bond. It took my husband like no time…but he did all the hands on diapering and such, which creates a bond. My son was completely opposite. I can’t imagine a surrogate with so many other Nannie’s and such..how couldn’t it be difficult for most.

If you watch the episodes about this you will see she disconnected the moment she found out about Tristan. She puts in on the surrogate situation but is clearly shown that isn’t the real issue. She needs therapy for it because it’s actually sad for the baby to see how disconnected she is even before he was born. Everybody told her he looked like True but she wouldn’t see it.
I feel she is not completely honest. She thought the baby would get Tristan to act right but he went and impregnated another woman while her surrogate was about to give birth. She thought the baby would bring them closer together but that didnt work at all . Poor baby will see all that when he's grown. She should have kept it to herself

Great, i love honesty from her. But if you can have a pet and love it more than a human, you should be able to love your offspring. No matter how they came into the world. Meh, knowing her 9/10 Tristan just isn’t reacting to this baby how he did when True was born or when she was Pregnant with True. He had no reason to really be present because it was a surrogate so the bond with him and Khloe may not have been there either. We all know this baby was made out of spite of his other baby and to steal the spotlight from that one but the aftermath of it not bringing Tristan closer to her is draining her. She keeps saying it has nothing to do with the baby and that is FACTS.
I worked from I put my years and work in. And they're worried about their hair color. And bonding with her well guess what my brother and I were both adopted. My mother had 6 miscarriages. And eventually adopted my brother and I. Try being grateful for all you have.

Which could be a Good Thing bc They can really do some damage to our bodies sometimes and we'll never know how bad its going to be until we go through it. Bc Every Pregnancy Is Different. But the end result is still the same. It is the exact baby you would have had if you carried it yourself. So if you ask me it would be no different in my mind.
