What about a job like cloud security engineer? Will that get impacted by AI where it can autonomously do the job by itself? Right now I do enterprise security but I've been wanting to go into a cloud security role. Should I just keep my old job and wait for AI security jobs to appear? I don't know what to do honestly. no Cloud security will remain simply because most AIs are hosted on the cloud. you need somone to secure the underlying infrastructure .. we are very far away from that type of autonomous AI honestly
As someone who wants to get into tech but is just starting out. Would you focus on cybersecurity? I will say Reddit makes me worried all tech is oversaturated. How can I break in? Would love any advice directed towards a newbie. Where would you focus your attention?
There are no places in tech or IT which are less saturated. Every field is saturated to some extend. It doesn't matter if you are a beginner in this generation because back in 2019 and the years before that, there was one less competitor in the market "AI" but now in the year 2024 you can't be a beginner because AI has already or is about have all the beginner knowledge and intermediate knowledge with in-depth explanation to certain topics or in this case "cyber security knowledge". As a fellow newbie in this field. I can advice a person to become someone who is great in two or three field (in this case cyber security fields) and have many projects completed on the related fields to show proof you know about something but an individual also need to adapt with AI. Meaning that someone can't live in world where he/she is tech or IT worker or freelancer or entrepreneur or business man/woman without implementing AI to some or daily task.
