Loved the glimpse of your dog! 😁. That second kitchen you showed (the one with the marble island) made me gasp…wow! Don’t know about eliminating the upper cabinets. I think bending over to get a glass or plate would get on my nerves after awhile. Of course you could put things in a pantry but the pantry would need to be right next to sink, dishwasher and refrigerator. I had a G shape kitchen in a very tiny row house I had in DC. It looked great but I had an architect design it. He managed to do the impossible by squeezing in a laundry area, kitchen, office, and eating space in 200 sq ft area.
I kove to cook so I love a U or G kitchen. I feel costraphobic in a galley and the ones with islands feel like a Galley with an open wall 😊. I need room to spread out so my toddlers and husband can be in there but not in my space.

Recently heard of a particularly narrow galley kitchen, described by its owner as a “one butt” kitchen, meaning there was only room for one butt. I have a three butt galley kitchen. It works well.
Love the G kitchen for an apt. The last one was beautiful & practical. It had upper cabinets on the two side walls which allowed for ample storage and at the same time did not overwhelm and close in the space. Perfection !
I have been on the fence about a checkerboard (harlequin) floor for our galley kitchen - so glad to hear you approve! You also mentioned lighting. What works well in a galley with 9 ft ceilings? There are currently only recessed lights. Another great video, thank you!
Love your video, I just removed my upper cabinets, I bought this house 2 years ago and it had the 90's thermofoil, what a nightmare, so happy without those upper cabinets the kitchen looks larger and airy, I don't wanted upper cabinet and a hood, what can I add to these walls, can you make a videos on ideas for kitchens without upper cabinets. xo
