    Can you tell the difference between an ACL tear and a meniscus tear? Or is it similar to the same symptoms?

    Hello Bob and Brad, I've been watching your channel and loving it! I'm a certified Yoga and Pilates Instructor. I can't find the video that I want to ask a question about....but I have some questions...You said one of the worst exercises you can do is like "v"sit ups...in Pilates there are exercises like the "roll up" and the"teaser" which are traditional pilates exercises...I',ve been teaching pilates for over 20 years and teaching theses exercises and doing them myself and have not had any problems. Quality of everything I give my clients are important...not sure if I should be teaching "teaser" "roll-up" "open-leg rocker" "boat pose" in yoga...please can I get your feedback with this? I appreciate it very much..Thank you for all you do for everyone! I'm working on creating a youtube channel soon, too! Thank You!

    Hello from the UK!
    I'm currently waiting for ACL surgery but due to the pandemic the waiting times for surgery is 12-18 months... Am I going to cause problems in my knee by walking on a unstable knee that long? or should I pay for surgery pravetly sooner rather than later?
    Thanks you in advanced ☺️

    I've injured my knee 5 months ago and when I saw a doctor for the first time he took an anterior drawer test from my left knee and told me that it was negative and that its mostly a meniscal tear... But when I had My MRI scan, the report which had the result said that my knee is very oedematous suggestive of Acl rupture while also having a medial meniscal tear!! I didn't believe the Acl rupture but I did believe that i tore my meniscus due to that I couldn't extend my knee so for the next appointment I met a different doctor and she assumed because of the result of the MRI that I've got an ACL rupture which I firmly denied so she called another doctor to assist her by taking ACL tests on my knee and came to a conclusion that I was positive 💔 for the Acl which I couldn't believe..😱😭😭😭 My heart Was Shattered 💔💔 I mean to be told 2 months and a half after the injury that I picked up an ACL was soo devastating and heart breaking!!! The reason why I didn't believe I had one was that I had no ACL symptoms.
    Doctor Brad, can you help me out or give me your opinion on my case would mean a lot to me!

    I slipped on wet grass back in February, my knee kept giving way after that. X rays were fine. Had an MRI that showed complete rupture of ACL. It gave way again on good Friday and I fell to the floor and was in agony.
    I can't see a surgeon in the UK because of this covid they aren't seeing patients at the moment.
    I'm a key worker, and also I wanted to do a dance fitness qualification.
    My knee when I stand will also not completely lock straight back, this I believe is something catching that prevents this.
    I'm so annoyed I can't get seen by anyone and the physio said some people can live without an ACL, but I believe that to be people who don't have physical jobs or do lifting.
    I wish I could get some advice and I'm concerned that it won't lock straight back and that it has given way a few times.

    here's a question, say you tweaked your knee in your 20's... nothing bad, but just twisted it a bit in exercise class.. after that would wear a compression brace. Now, 20ish years later, added a few lbs, knees-both hurt, but esp the tweaked knee. you know exercise would help... but they hurt. swimming isn't an option as exercise...what can be done to help improve the knees and reduce the pain, so one can move better for longer.

    @ Bob & Brad, I cannot even figure out what is wrong with my knee, please help, and please read the following description. Last month for the first time in 11 years I hit 565 on the deadlift without grip failure. Squats I normally do not feel in my knee, however two weeks ago I felt a pain in my right knee. It was week two of a ten-week periodization on the squat, so I went light and hit 325 pounds for 5 at near rock bottom ass to grass depth without wraps, belt or anything. The right side has some type of hip issue. The upper gluteus is tight. The floor of the Blink Fitness gym is crooked making the right side higher on a rubbery matted floor. The weight when heavy creates tightness on that side. Then I deadlifted week one of a ten-week periodization 425 for 5, but compensation for the crooked floor, Week 2 was 445 also for 5, even with the knee wrapped, my knee was weak and sort of buckle on the stairs out of the gym, I limped but without any real pain a few seconds and then walked without an issue. It is a weird injury, If I lean forward like a one-legged Rumanian deadlift position a sharp pain in the top of the kneecap, not the cap itself but the flesh just where it connects to the leg. My right hip is also much tighter than my left. I have very powerful abdominals and psoas but might be more limited in side-oblique work because holding the heavy kettlebells for side planks bother my injured right shoulder. Certain hip stretches bother my knee and cause a sudden inner hamstring tightness. What do you think is going on? How do you think I should fix it? Also, for many reasons my health rides on being able to powerlift and I am 53, never used drugs and squats are king. Please give any advice you might have. I also notice every time I hit a PR in something lately, something else gets injured throwing me back, 565 for the first time in 11 years so........

    Just two questions.Can a acl tear heal on its own(small tear) with the right exercise program and rest and nutrition?Can you function without one

    • @carlivasquez6840
      @carlivasquez6840 Před 2 lety

      For question #1 yes, there's a disconnection between the tissue and any chance of blood supply, so it would probably take a long time to heal completely but it’s possible. #2 yes you can function with a torn ACL as long as it isn’t causing you to feel instability/pain all the time.
