Like your use of steam to bed down the knots 👍👍
I have it even more easy.
Make boom with one end a loop with a crimp. Other end a loop with a quickchange in it, also crimped.
Than make a chod, lots of them. Also crimped.
Attach chod to the boom using the quickchange. I use a 4mm rubber bump to fix chod to boom and one to fix boom to mainline/leader.
This way i can quickly change my hook when i want. + i use same chog part for a chod rig. Which is very handy.
Or use the 360 versions from gemini and make the hinge bit with crimps far stronger than a knot
I found the simplest way was tie the swivel first & use a whipping knot. But each to their own. Have used it with a soft coated boom if the bottoms a bit choddy with great effect.
Needs a ring swivel but i find it interesting how u know how it works underwater it does this n that when the main part ie water is missing as for resetting rigs what a load of drivel it will never be the same as when u cast it and its for a clean area plus the linger the boom the more it will lift
