Butter or better? Betty beat a bit of bitter butter but the bit of bitter butter made betty's batter bitter.

Did you miss a step? At the end after you created a directory /mnt/btrfs-data-snap, you didn't mount the snapshot subvolume onto that directory.

Yes, this is strange to me as well. By creating a directory it is doing an automatic mount? I do not think so...

I had been using BTRFS in a Linux VM for about two years without any issue until two weeks ago.
Two weeks ago, I had a power outage that resulted into my file system being unbootable and eventually the loss of all my files stored within the BTRFS file system!! Unfortunately, I had no backup for that VM. I tried almost every single thing to restore the file system, but unfortunately; nothing worked.
My last resort was to restore some of my files from the disk using photorec, which did the job to restore some of them (without keeping the file names).
I’m pretty sure that this was a relevant to how the BTRFS works because I was using two VMs when that power outage occurred. I only lost all files in the VM that had BTRFS file system. The other VM, which is based on NTFS, was completely fine and had no issue with it after the outage.

Initially i had lsblk showing / and /home in the same drive, but now after installing BtrfsAssistant, which changed the mountpoint of the drive to /run/BtrfsAssistant, after deleting the app, it just disappeared... no more / , only /home shows up in lsblk

Do linode have any plans (or do they already? been a while since I've checked) to support btrfs images in linode creation, disk images, backups, etc?
I've generally converted the ext4 root that linodes start with by default, but it would be nice to have that configuration supported.
