Eric, since you're looking for dissident polymaths with a realistic view of our financial system, you should bring Catherine Austin Fitts on The Portal. She's the former Secretary of Housing for the Bush administration who underwent a paradigm shift after experiencing firsthand the high level fraud and corruption at the heart of our illusory economy. She's smart, heterodox, and most importantly, noble-hearted.

The real causes of most of our problems go.nack much further than the 1970's.
The financial system was infected in the thirties. The bacteriotixins have been building io over time and have mow reached critical levels. And these charlatans hold a conversation in order to steer the solutions toward a band-aid instead of an antibiotic.
We are about to go critical. And guys like Thiel are ready to run to New Zealand when the corpse won't pump any more blood.
This is just so much more demoralization propaganda for anyone who can see the big picture. These two are bit players sent to quell the high end of the commoners, just like Trump is there for the lower end.

1:01:50 What is the Thieliology :P
I'm a PhD Candidate in psychology/cognitive neuroscience. This is 100% accurate. IMHO, nobody should do a Bachelor's degree in psychology. It's useless. Study something real (e.g. statistics) and you can still go to grad school in psychology. Indeed, I think we should split undergrad psychology into two degrees: one social science degree for people who just need any degree to work at Krispy Kreme and a distinct difficult grad-shcool-prep psychology course based on engineering that would get you to the level of at least a current Master's psychology student (probably mid-PhD). This would make the students more valuable when they graduate (ideally enough to be hired as a data scientist), and it would make the ones that want to do grad school much more capable of doing more advanced research so we overcome the terrible low-quality psychology we have today.
There's so much more we could know about the brain, but the smart people study math/physics. We need more of those smart brains working in the orchard of psychology so we can fix the field. I started in computer science and switched and it's easy to succeed in psychology with a more advanced math background because you out-pace your peers so utterly.

For a lot of people the present reality is this: you live in a small apartment in a huge city; you have a huge flat-screen TV on which you can watch people living a life you can never hope to anymore: a beautiful big house surrounded by pristine nature, exciting adventures,
beautiful people and wonderful romance. When they film car chases, James Bond never gets stuck in traffic: huge city blocks have been
cleared out for the movie. The very rich live in one world, but even they are affected by the general decline: I talked to a guy who is a wine broker in Sonoma, and housing is so expensive that there are few kids in his kids' school, too few teachers, librarians, firemen, police, nurses...no one can afford to live there. So it's a beautiful wasteland, inhabited by rich retirees or tech millionaires who wonder what the ffff is going on, and how to escape from paradise to life....(and all this is pre-virus!)

Let's add some topic stamps to the video version of your podcast episodes to increase the ability for viewers to compartmentalize the entire episode; e.g. for the first topic a nice little textbox interface showing that you and your guest are talking about x or making arguments about why y is better than w, and so on. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed this video, no as much as how much I expect from future episodes. Cheers.

I can tell you this: the man should leave economic thought to economists. The idea that the Globalists or the "elites" want free trade is so comical it boggles the mind. These are things these people claim, not what they do. The "Gloabalists" want "free trade" for themselves and their friends.. they don't actually want it for the people... which is why you and I can't start a business and engage in anything we might consider to be free trade. They want "free trade" for multi-national corporations to take what they want from people who have no say in the matter because they lack property rights. That's not free trade, that's theft, but they use the euphemism of "free trade" and people like Weinstein buy it.

Eric, I think you are making a mistake about the purpose of the narrative propaganda. You are still talking about the institutional narratives as if they are about convincing or attempting to persuade people. But what I see is much more soviet than that... We now are told Narratives that are patently ridiculous and stupid... and the REAL acid test is whether or not we unquestioningly repeat these falsehoods and absurdities... I've anticipated a podcast from you since I first saw you on the Rubin Report in 2018. You're truly one of the greatest minds of our century. Thank you for bringing us real conversations, portals, and hope. Cheers, Dr. Weinstein!! Let us continue stepping through the Looking Glass and finding Toll Booths together.

Thanks for putting your podcast on CZcams. I feel it's better to watch people talk as well as just listen. Have been looking forward to The Portal since you mentioned it on your last JRE. I can't think of anyone more eloquent, educated, & well-placed to pull this off. Hope you get more subs; what you're trying to do here is immensely important for humankind's...march of progress.

This was a great conversation, its truly great to see people talk at this level without stopping to explain basics to the audience/participant - If I don't understand a term I can pause and search myself - If you can keep up this standard, you're onto a winner. Keep uploading to youtube too!
