Ashley, the Golden Triangle you are referring to is the Bukit Bintang area or more popularly referred to as the New York of Malaysia. Look for Lot 10 or the Pavillion which are two of the famous landmarks there. Btw the so called nasi lemak you had was more like nasi kandar. Go to Wanjo in Kampung Baru , they have the best and authentic nasi lemak in KL. And what the heck did you pay SG$35 for the durians. Singapore has no durians, they all come from Malaysia.. Go to Penang , you will love it .

You can consider visiting these places later:
    1. Saloma Bridge (best visited at night, accessible by walking from the Petronas Twin Towers) - It's a bridge that connects the city to Kampung Baru, also known as the New Village.
    2. In Kampung Baru, you must try the famous Nasi Lemak Wanjo restaurant. However, there might be other great nasi lemak places depending on people's preferences.
    3. Batu Cave Temple (approximately 20-30 minutes from the city center, accessible by Grab, KTM Batu Cave train, or other public transport options).
    4. Central Market (near Paser Seni MRT) - a great place to shop for souvenirs and gifts.
    5. Petaling Street (near Paser Seni MRT) - located near Central Market, it's another excellent shopping and cultural destination.
    6. Pavilion Mall - conveniently close to the Bukit Bintang MRT train station.
    7. Jalan Alor - known for its delicious food and Burger Ramly stalls, it's also near the Bukit Bintang MRT station.
    8. National Mosque of Malaysia (Masjid Negara) - near Medeka Square - near Masjid Jamek LRT
Enjoy your trip to Malaysia! 🥰🥰"

Nasi lemak means rice cooked with coconut milk. Want to try more Malay cuisine, try exploring Kampung Baru, not far from the Petronas Twin Towers. You just have to cross the bridge called Pintasan Saloma and you will reach the village. There is a famous Nasi Lemak restaurant called Wanjo. In front of Wanjo Restoran there is another restaurant called Suraya Seafood and you can try special dishes from the East Coast namely Nasi Dagang and Nasi Kerabu.
From the Petronas Twin Towers you can also follow an underground tunnel and an air-conditioned bridge directly to Pavallion Bukit Bintang. The journey may take 20 minutes because the distance is about 1 kilometer. You can also use the LRT on the subway or under Klcc and go straight to Bukit Bintang. In Bukit Bintang, some vloggers used to call it the Time Square of Malaysia. Not far from the Pavilion there is a night market where there are many restaurants and quite popular with tourists on Jalan Alor. A few blocks further you will find Jalan Changkat where most tourists spend the night for happy hour in a row of bars and lounges.

What you ate for dinner was actually not the classic nasi lemak (our national dish) but nasi kandar that originated from Kedah, which just happens to have a confusing name. A normal nasi kandar only has white rice, but what you ate was a popular type of Kedah's nasi kandar that uses yellow rice with a creamy taste (thus the name). But that's essentially a nasi kandar, and not the normal nasi lemak (rice is cooked in coconut milk). You must eat the classic nasi lemak, preferably bought from a small stall sold by a Malay elderly. Anyway, that van that brought you up to KL Tower does has a KL Tower signage on the doors. And you have a much better chance of securing KLCC tower tickets online. Happy visiting Malaysia!

    • @azzyd127
      @azzyd127 Před 8 měsíci

@@JetkawaiiA yes, clearly nasi kandar in general originated from Penang. But what I was saying above is that Nasi Lemak Royale RESTAURANT is specifically a franchised nasi kandar restaurant that originated from Kedah. I just wanted to explain to the CZcamsr that what he was eating was not nasi lemak but a type of yellow nasi kandar that was established and popular in Kedah but now has become popular in other parts of Malaysia. I know this because Kedah is my hometown and the original gerai was nearby my old house.

Hiya.. welcome to fascinating Malaysia 🇲🇾😊
That Nasi Lemak you ate was Kedah's style.. yellow colour..not a regular one.. The authentic Malay Nasi Lemak is white colour, it's a rice mixed with coconut cream/milk.. "Nasi Lemak" literally means "creamy rice", eat with chilie sambal, anchovies, peanuts, cucumber and hard boiled eggs..you may add water spinach, fried chicken and beef rendang etc. For best Nasi Lemak nearby golden triangle is in Kampong Baru..you can try it in Wanjo, Kak Chuk, Kak Som, Seri Tanjak and many more in eateries there.. Gotta try MALAYSIA'S roti chanai the number 1 best street food in the world with many varieties, tea tarik and not forgetting the famous Ramly Burgers..

The meal you had is not really Nasi Lemak, but more like nasi kandar. Essential Nasi Lemak is the rice cooked with cocunut milk and served with anchovies, sambal and cucumber. Chicken or beef come as condiments.
Try to look our original local food at Kampung Baru (malay food), Petaling Street (chinese food) or Brickfields (Indian food). The local food at those areas are more authentic and cheap. Tips: AVOID eating at Jalan Alor as you will be ripped off with crazy prices.
