She's from Rockford IL, I also live thier. Emily Bear is world renown, playing at the White House, Carnigy Hall, all over Europe & Asia. Written dozens of scores for symphonies, has a jazz trio the Emily Bear Trio. I could go on & on. My one wish would for Angelina Jordan to meet Emily Bear and compose some jazz arrangements, or even some covers. Emily is now 18 and writing and singing some pop .
Quincy Jones Part of inteview Bilboard with Quincy Jones about Emily Bear.at age 9. Is another Quincy album coming? Quincy: Then there's Emily Bear; President Obama calls her "Baby Mozart." She's been writing for symphonies since she was 5 and also plays bossa nova and the blues. She sings "Celie's Blues" from "Color Purple," anything. When we first met her, her feet wouldn't even touch the floor. She just did a concert at Carnegie Hall with a choir and a symphony orchestra. She’s the most delightful human being I’ve ever met in my life. And her music is the same way. I am at once astounded and inspired by the enormous talent that Emily embodies. With the ability to seamlessly move from Classical to Jazz and Be-bop, she shows as much musical prowess as pianists/composers twice her age, and I am thrilled to be working with her. She’s astounding, man … she’s astounding. She plays like she’s 40 years old. She is the complete 360-degree package, and there are no limits to the musical heights she can reach.” - Quincy Jones
Thanks, Sandy for turning me on to Emily. I am in total awe - an amazing talent. Like Angelina, she also seems to be humble and caring. I spent about 3 straight hours listening to her today, from Rhapsody in Blue to her jazz compositions. World class talent and then some!
If you haven't heard of her, you might enjoy checking out Rachel Flowers' Y.Tube channel. Blind from birth, this multi-instrumentalist came to the attention of Keith Emerson by posting covers of a lot of his E.L.P. parts on Y.Tube. Emerson even had his custom synth shipped to her to check out before it was shipped to him. There's an old video of her playing for Ray Charles when she was 10. Besides classical and jazz, she also likes the music of Frank Zappa, which she has covered, and there's a video of her trading electric guitar solos with Dweezil Zappa. She also learned a Jaco Pastorius piece on the bass, and was learning how to play the Chapman Stick. There's also a jam on flute with the guy from Focus, and a Keith Emerson piece where at one point she plays flute with one hand and piano with the other. They also made a documentary about her. Anyway, seeing this Emily Bear video made me think that you would enjoy checking out Rachel Flowers (not necessarily for reacting to).
WOW ... JUST WOW !!! Can't hardly even think that fast, let alone attempt to play that fast ! Awesome. Thanks for doing this in the usual format. Don't know why that streaming video stuff is so problematic for me. So good to see your beautiful smile despite everything that is going on. Wishing you all the best, and of course a very big HELLO to your dear Mother.
I tried to respond to your Patreon message last night and it disappeared, like you said was happening to you. I think there's a glitch with the latest update because it wasn't like that before. This computer stuff is baffling to me... I'm a Trekkie, not a techie. lol Thanks Jim! 💕🤗😙💕
Nothing like some good Boogie. There is a guy (pro) that is on CZcams and he goes in to places that have a piano and if there is some one playing he takes the there playing and turns it into Boogie Woogie. But he shows and helps that person play with him
I have been an Emily Bear fan for many, many years. She is 18 now and released a pop EP with Toby Gad, who came out of retirement just to work with her. He produced "If I Were a Boy" by Beyonce, "All of Me" by John Legend, "Skyscraper" by Demi Lovato, etc. When she was 11, Quincy Jones produced a jazz CD with her. He had not worked with a solo artist since Michael Jackson! Here is her current info: kraft-engel.com/clients/emily-bear/ But, I am getting ahead of myself. Here is my Emily Bear playlist: czcams.com/play/PL60x_nwin-I6wtVQQFGA2wQruJ4XNNAo0.html She has many awards including the state of Illinois highest honor (she is from Rockford, IL) and many ASCAP song writing awards, which is how she met Toby Gad. Her first song writing award was at age 6! Her most impressive work is how she can take a scene described to her and compose a song on the fly within minutes conveying the scene!
Alma and Emily! Emily and Alma! These two geniuses are the future of music (there are other young composers but I believe these two standout). I don't know how you pick links to react too but I thought I would provide you with this link. It is Emily's composition written and orchestrated by Emily Bear for the Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra when she was 10 for their 2011 Christmas program. This is a link that has the best sound to it czcams.com/video/Y2elyxW2n9s/video.html This has the best visuals czcams.com/video/laMctBcvHoo/video.html Emily has been composing since she was about 4. Oh, and Alma's last name is pronounced Deut as in toy, scher as in choo choo or cher.
