    Wow! I've been working for clients going on 10 years and I still listen to how the "other guys" do what we do. Bren, you do a fantastic job explaining in layman's terms how to get all the pieces working like a well-oiled machine. I learned a few things I had not considered like using "Create a campaign without a goals guidance". It's now my go-to for new campaign set up in most instances.

Typically the people we are targeting are in foreclosure, behind on taxes and need the cash fast. Hey BuitPros,
      People need to have their pixel and conversion API set up. Assistance with tracking through something like Triple Whale (there are a few of them) can help. But by means do they help provide perfect tracking.
      A lot contractors and construction companies are using messenger and instant forms so the conversion event happens on FB.
      Being stronger with qualification on your forms allows better data to flow back to the platform allowing the platform to better optimize for you.
      Take advantage of offline conversion tracking too.

    Should contractors use search ads or pmax campaigns ?

    • @BrenHammel
      @BrenHammel  Před rokem +1

      As many different styles of campaigns contractors are construction companies can use within the Google ads interface.
      I would stand well clear (at the time this comment was written) performance Max campaigns. They are working well for e-commerce businesses but are awful for lead generation businesses.
      There is a lot of spam coming in with performance Max campaigns and Google needs to fix this.
      When they work performance Max will change the game. But they are well away from that happening in the foreseeable future.

    Hello Bren. Excellent video! Great optimization tips. I also work with lead generation for remodeling services, but I still don't have as many years of experience as you do. If it's not too much...can you say what is the cost per lead that you get initially in the campaigns in Google Ads? I ask because, in my tests, Google is always 5x, 7x, or more expensive than Facebook Ads. I'm trying to understand where I'm going wrong. Thanks for sharing your knowledge :)

    • @BrenHammel
      @BrenHammel  Před 2 lety +1

      Hey Grazy,
      Thats a good question and one I get often. Google ads can be more expensive than FB for sure. But generally the leads are better in quality. So it can be a trade off.
      The cost will also fluctuate depending upon the location and the business. Big cities are generally more expensive due to higher CPC's, but not always. Some businesses are premium and are looking to disqualify low paying personnel.
      And remodeling and vary a little. But to give you a little range I can generate leads as lows as $20 per lead and as high as $85 roughly speaking for remodeling clients.
      There are a lot of factors that come into play. Hopefully this helps you :-).
      Let me know if you have further questions and always feel free to ask a questions on any video.

    Should I do seo, run ppc ads, or both?

    • @BrenHammel
      @BrenHammel  Před rokem

      Hey karen,
      If you have the budget then it is best to do both IMO. G ads gets you leads faster and can help with cash flow. This additional cash flow can help pay for itself and SEO.
      SEO generally takes a longer time to get going. It's a longer term play.
      Context always come into play with these questions.
      If I had to start with one I would start with G ads. Start getting leads and selling those leads. Once the increase in cash flow is coming in I would start investing in SEO.

    Hello I’ve my own google ad campaigns, but still trying to figure out which one bid strategy is the best to get leads? I have emergency locksmith campaign, tried tCPA but the bids became really aggressive. I’m covering not big area, right now using manual cpc and conv rate is between 20 and 30%. All the time experimenting with the bid strategies can’t figure out which one is the best for local ads. Thank you

    • @BrenHammel
      @BrenHammel  Před 2 lety +1

      Hey Tomas,
      Firstly, your conversion rates look to be very good at 20 and 30%. It would appear that many things within your campaign are correct and your landing page is persuasive and has a good offer or visitors.
      As for the automated bidding strategies my ideal preference is to have 50 conversions in a 30 day period before moving to 1 of the automated bidding strategies. If I have a small budget which is under what would be needed to reach 70+ percent search impression share I would use maximise conversions. Want to have a larger budget you can move to tCPA.
      Give doing what you're doing sounds like things are going pretty well. Let me know if you have any further questions.

    In your video from 2019 you mention using modified broad match for keywords but in this video you are going with exact match and don't mention modified broad match at all. Have things changed? For a new campaign which strategy would you use today? Or would you use both? I'm new to adWords (used a decade ago, so I am new again) and I am being tasked with building a mold and moisture campaign for a clients company.

    • @BrenHammel
      @BrenHammel  Před 2 lety

      Hey Rick,
      Good question.
      We can't use modified broad match anymore. Back in Feb 2021, Google rolled the behaviours of modified broad match into phrase match.
      I prefer to start with exact match with new campaigns. Then move to phrase as a point of scale.
      Even exact match has become a little broader.
      I suggest this strategy for people who do not know the Google ads platform as it's safer.
      For contractors and construction guys I go with phrase from the start because I know most industries quite well and have learnings and data from other campaigns to start things off better.
      Also, For mold and moisture, there are scripts that will allow you to modify your bidding based on the weather. So when raining you can bid more etc. Something that might help you.
      Let me know if this helps.
      Regards,
      Bren
