I lost over $80k when everything started to tank. Not because I was in an exchange that went belly up. I was just stupid to hold and because that's what everyone said. I'm still responsible. It just taught me to be a better investor now that I understand more of what could go wrong. It took me over two years of being in the market, I'm really grateful I found one source to recover my money, at least $10k profits weekly. Thanks Julie Braun
Their services are very genius and experienced in the market for over a decade and counting, they changed my life from a poor plumber to a better and middle class family man with 2kids.
I'm beating myself. I learn all that you teach me and simply don't apply it. I see anything happening and just jump in without identifying any real setups and or identifying why something is happening. Or as you said, "how something happened". I find myself just ignoring all that I have learned... I need so badly to work on implementing what I have learned and I know my trade results would be 1000% better!
Check out Tom Houggards videos. I was facing the same issue. His insights changed the way I look at it all, and I find now that I'm much better at waiting for the right opportunity. All the best to you! 🎇
Definitely. Just recently on NQ, I could see a stop hunt candle right at the after-market hours open, and right before the day market's open. Obviously to stop future traders who took long positions during the day, and to stop out traders who took long positions in the evening hours when it was looking bullish. Think there's tickers that don't get stop-hunted as frequently, but which ones? The indexes definitely do.
If you get the direction right and your stops keep getting hit, I would set my entry at the point were the stop loss is getting hit, perfect entry if you ask me. keep it simple! learn from what you see happening and you will do well.
That's why they look at stocks in play. Because there is a lot of new participants on the stock that day driven by the catalyst, and they are making large trading decisions on the spot. You want to identify key areas on the tape or chart because they are most likely areas set by institutional buy programmes that have to fill large order sizes, so you want to piggy back on them. It's a different story if you trade a stock not in play, there is a lot of random price action in those and usually they are more sensitive to market maker hedging, etc.
Hello SMB Team. Thank you very much for sharing your videos. I would like to see a video about position sizing for stocks. How to calculate the position when entering into a position. Thank you in advance!
First off you define how much you are willing to risk (lose) on the trade, then you identify where the appropriate stop loss is. position size in shares = Risk $ / (entry price - stop loss price)
My (limited) experience of trading with a prop firm is that the spreads and commissions totally obliterate my backtest results. A 1:2 trade results in 1:0.3 - Very disheartening and I don't see how scalping would work unless you have a phenomenal win rate.
At a PnL prop firm like SMB commissions are very low so that scalping strategies can be very profitable. We are splitting profits with traders so our interests are alligned with our traders.
I hate breakout entries. That’s the worst trade I take. If undecided on breakout I’ll enter es long off bottom of range and short nq off top of that range. Take profit at top and bottom of range to pay for stop then let rest play out like you said. It I see breakout candles get engulfed more often than not it seems especially short time frame. If I take more than few ticks of heat I’ll usually try for break even exit because I was wrong and it’s not respecting my level. It’ll usually give you one chance to break even and I’ll sometimes reverse position because it really runs the stops when that happens.
Ive been burned on alot of false breakout too so now its "Breakout or bailout " if the break out doesn't work a second time wait for a confirmation of breakdown (breaking 9ema/vwap ,macd crossover ect) and short it
Be honest though, they have shared some good stuff. One is a MACD strategy change it to 3,9,5 and literally play the cross overs real good easy base hit kinda play. They got a video on it if you are interested. These guys are the real deal though. Will they share all their secrets without you paying nah. But they do share some good info
So if the cataylst is NOT a fundamental change like earnings or breaking news then it can never be an +A plus trade ever ? Therefore technical catalyst set ups will generally get less size ?

I am just failing to understand how is this different than intraday trading. You are spending good enough time to find out stocks in play. You are waiting for breakouts or breakdowns. Taking 1 as 2 risk - reward ratio. I think scalping needs to be much faster. This way you might just get 1 or 2 trades a day. A scalper would normally take more than 10 trades. What exactly is the difference in scalping and day trading?
