Making money is a mindset, losing money and keep losing it is also a mindset- its a battle between you vs you ! minimum skills and practice are inevitably important else u will lose your kidneys but money wont come

Firstly you should create your trading strategy,second is your system that has an hedge and lastly you need to have a proper trading psychology. You need all 3 to reach profitability, without having these 3 you just might not be profitable
Open a demo account with any broker and start trading. Figure out what concept is suitable for your trades and then you can transition over to prop firms.
Spend a couple of months to fully understand the basic of the market

I think the most different between hedge funds and retail traders is that hedge funds play with other’s people money ( absolutely no emotion involved) and retail traders play with their own hard work earn money with 100% emotions.
Emotions must cut from trading and everyone can be a winner 🎉

5% of 1 million or 100 million is a lot different than 5% of $100 or $1,000.. The hedge funds main advantage is they can wait retail investors out and still go home happy everyday while most retailer traders panic sell or don't won't to wait and have their money tied up for 2-3 or 2-3 months. So they sell Take a loss and try another stock happens again and again then they loose confidence or go broke and quit.

Great insights ! Dr. Brett Steenbarger mentioned about low volatility creating on average more reversals, is that because true momentum creates a sustained directional volatility and without it, stocks tend to reverse to the mean ?

My favorite trades are longs into retail shorts stopping out. My best trades are within the first 15 minutes after the open.
Can you be more specific? At what point do you think retail shorts are stopping out?

@charliemcgrain he waits until buy stops are taken and then longs after. So after an old low is taken or after a major dump. And these moves usually happen the most during NY am session.

To make the claim that he is the greatest psychological trader is pretty bold. Everyone knows Mark Douglas was the best and still is even after his passing.
Mark Douglas laid the foundation and everyone builds on top. Dr. S is one of the best if not the best builder. 😊
Mark Douglas wasn't even a psychologist. He just wrote a book that sold well.
