Good review Jayde, I think this little game machine is great for kids or folks with small hands and good eyes, who just want to play older retro games, but for a GenX'er like myself, it's just too darn small. I would need a pair of cheater glasses just to see the screen, and the controls seem like they would be an arthritis test, lol.
Having said that the RG35xxSP model that looks like a Gameboy Advance SP, looks very intriguing as well, but having a larger screen and more comfortable grip for adult sized hands, not to mention the horsepower to run tons of stuff, is why I bought a RG505 instead. At the time of purchase I got it for like $143 from ali-express with a 256 GB game card and a protective case.
PS: I like your intro/outro background music!

Thanks a bunch Jay J! The appeal of the SP is def the advance style. I would say the SP will perform similarly, but the appeal with be aesthetic. I agree, squinting and tap dancing with your thumbnails is kinda tough 😂 Waaay to small for us old farts ;)
I’m trying to figure out ways to see if people on the channel will get involved in something like this, incentives like giveaways may allow me to do more handheld reviews. The most basic membership is still .99, so we will see!
Thanks for supporting the channel! 🙏🏼

Great review. I agree with your synopsis Jayde that it could be a good entry level device for someone just getting in to the handheld device scene. I already have a few handhelds so this one does not offer me enough to convince to add it to my collection.

I'd get one but the size is the issue for me. I have the RG35XX PLUS and H and I like systems up to the SNES, Atari systems and the Gameboy line, so these pretty much have it covered. Anbernic is doing really good with this line, that's for sure.

Yea the H seems like a better option at $80, these things are super fun! Thanks for watching!

I am torn between this or the new 35xx sp. I may just hold off completely because I got a ds r4 card and can play everything with it on my different ds units. I think it is for people that like the gb micro form factor.

You can get a 35XX H for $80 on Amazon right now, includes a built-in TF card too ;)

Also, the ARC-S is going for around $80-89 as well I believe.

I ordered one and I can’t wait to try it. I’m not looking to play 3D games but the portability factor is something I’m interested especially for those good old retro classics. I know it’s small, but after owing and playing on the RG Nano, the RG28xx for sure it’s going to be a fun one. I do have the RG35xx’s line up except the sp. it is an obsession for sure. Lol. But if you ask me, the RG Nano with the Drum78 OS is my favorite. Playing Pac Man with only a thumb is priceless. I subbed to your channel. Like your content.

This device is great, it has replaced my 280m and Trimui Smart as my go to travel gamer. It plays all the N64, DC, and PSP games I bought it to play, plus it has a really good music player, and the only video player I've found on these devices that doesn't freeze up. Only thing I don't like are the colours,..but oh well. 😁

I just bought it to play Shenmue on a 2.8 inch display. It's probably my 20th device already. Maybe 30th idk I don't keep track 😅

Hey is it true that the default Gameboy emulator on this unit only plays in Black and White? Thats a bit of a deal breaker if so :( Which sucks cause I was otherwise super excited about this unit.
