The bestest Western movie i have ever watched
I recall viewing this for about 40 yrs now when it would be broadcast on one of the independent TV stations here in the L.A. area. Also interesting in catching the predecessor of the TV series "Rawhide". And oh yes, due to a severe case of bias, I also watch this Westerner to see my Auntie Gloria perform in the role of Sandy Jeffrey. (She actually was a rather good equestrian rider in reality.)

This is a good movie to remember. Any time an employer allows one of there employees to break the law. Hahaha the employer is responsible, so much so he served time in prison. Wow that's some tuff law.

•Chisholm Trail, the classic novel by Borden Chase that inspired the epic motion picture Red River starring John Wayne and Montgomery Clift.
•The diary of trail boss George C. Duffield, written during a cattle drive from San Antonio to Sedalia in 1866. The narrations with which Gil Favor begins each episode are similar in style and breadth to the entries in Duffield's journal, lending the show an extra measure of authenticity.

Watchable but slow western with an improbable plot. Hard to believe Warren went on to direct the Rawhide TV series.
