Yo I've got a question:
What did you do to fix the graphics in Spore? I saw that for the first few minutes, your graphics were the same as mine. No transparent cells, no shiny looking textures, ect. But at around 4:04, your graphics changed. The cell turned transparent. I wanna know what you did to fix this.
@@cyclommatus11 This is by increasing the Lighting Quality in the graphics settings. Lighting on low makes the cells solid but changing it to high will give the transparent cells :)
@@KinglyValence I have every graphics setting on max already and the cells aren't transparent. Is this because I have have literally everything on at once or something else?
@@cyclommatus11 Hmm, that's all I did. But I have heard that some graphics cards have trouble with high graphics settings and have heard that using the console command cheat (using Control + shift + C) and trying "prop shaderPath 3" can temporarily fix it. (May need to be used each time the game is launched). See if that works :)

How ironic, having effectively conquered the world, yet without any others creatures, there's no pressure to evolve, preventing you from taking advantage of that freedom
It's why the Entities from Worm are braindead stupid. They became too powerful from their dimensional folding abilities before achieving full sapience, and thus couldn't evolve more intelligence due to a lack of evolutionary pressure.
7:07 this is how my Spore galaxy looked like when I played Spore as a child. I used to start new games way too often for some reason, I loved to create and play as new monsters and thought having so many planets is a flex. Brings back old memories lol
same, but my creatures were poorly put together which is why I had so many.

I thought i was the only one. most of the planets where I reached space stage were the "Warrior" archetype, i love comitting specicide, also I do in Spore.

@@jorgejaimes2210 most of my planets were either warrior, shaman or trader (or wanderer), since i never thought about behaving differently in each stage, i just went with what did my creature eat
my favorite glitch is definitely the empty planet one, that must so eerie to explore a planet devoid of life
My favorite will still be the mythical (nonexistent?) glitch where you take control of other cells when they eat you
It's likely a side effect of mods and not a true glitch.

i know what you are.
this glitch haunts me in my dreams. i was even watching the original video that showed this glitch yesterday because of how often I think about it. I know it probably can't be replicated and it was probably just a result of mod incompatibility, but the idea of actually being able to play as a parasite in Spore is so eerie to me

And now I'm reminded of that mythical mega cell where if you venture out too far you can encounter the giant mouth of some eldritch entity or cell. It can't hurt you on contact but the fact that you're swimming around its massive beak... nightmare fuel.
Of course it was probably just an edited video or something...
Fastest cell is probably the Grox, i like to imagine their cells have like tiny rockets attached.

Awesome! Cell stage is my favorite stage. Now I'm looking forward to using asymmetric cells :)
The best way to use it is to dupe a carnivore mouth. If you do that, you pay for one, but you can move one to your front and one to your back. A mouth at the pack scaled sufficiently large makes it impossible to be bitten from behind (attacks just bounce off if teeth clash in cell stage) which is a huge advantage.
@@Geta92 Oh, I like that idea. I was thinking of using it to duplicate a spike since I usually like having two carnivore months on the front with a spike in between
Wait. With the asymmetry in cell stage, you can have a creature with mouths at both ends, for the price of one mouth
Yep, that should work! Each mouth can be moved independently!

It could be using the loading screens to retrieve creatures from the Spore servers, and given that the cell stage doesn't allow for custom NPCs the loading screen is not needed; it does make me question if loading through cell stage would skip the retrieving of custom creatures (assuming that's what it's doing in the loading screens.)
I just redownloaded spore for the first time in a decade. I love this game. Thanks for inspiring me to pick it up again.
If you used that last glitch to get a planet without other creatures othar than the player, what would happen if you went to the save file's planet on a space stage save? How would the game react and would it be impossible to unsoftlock the save by dropping new creatures onto the planet?
I visited the Empty Planet in Space Stage, the planet appears to be a normal Creature Stage planet with a full ecosystem. I left the planet and saved the game, but resuming into the Creature Stage game, there weren't any creatures still. Pretty interesting, but the games seem to be treated separately.
@@KinglyValence Interesting, it makes sense that the creature stage planet and space stage planet seem to be separated considering space stage planets have a max 9 creatures. Although, that does beg the question of how the other stages interact with a space stage save. I wonder if anyone has documented all that.

I don't imagine the loading screens were always lying, the blank screen that appears briefly when loading the cell stage in the video would surely last a lot longer on older hardware.

It's interesting to conduct a further research on these glitches. What will happen if you fly to the planets with overlapping names in Space Stage? How long can you add new game locations for? And what would happen if you flew to the planet that has no other creatures from a different save?

The asymmetry glitch is actually so useful, I can get more creative with my species now! Also, I want to comment on that last barren planet glitch. When I terrasculpt playable planets from a space stage save, sometimes my creature stage nest ends up being in water, and I usually quit without saving to fix this, but last time I decided not to, so I swam around and found a nest of my species that spawned on land, so I could get and walk around on land, and then... I found out that all other creature nests only spawn on shorelines, and only the shorelines of the body of water my first nest spawned in, and it was kinda creepy seeing all those empty land spots... It was also the game where one of my nests spawned right next to another cretaure's nest, to the point they wre touching sides, and it messed with the pathfinding of those other creatures, I tried to interact with them but they would ignore me and try to go to the center of their nest and then they just stood still there, without doing anything...
Hmm that's odd, I haven't tried a whole Creature Stage with my starting nest in the ocean. I showed that was a possibility in the Creature Stage glitch showcase but then just how to find another nest to return onto land but I didn't look at the planet any further. That's interesting the nest spawns are still affected when that happens!

i forget (its been forever since i messed around with cheats), would the add dna cheat allow you to progress into tribal stage? if so, what happens if you go from the empty creature stage to tribal?
Adding DNA through the cheat doesn't count towards Creature Stage progress, only adds to the DNA bank total. That would be a cool way to pass through Creature Stage quickly though!

sometimes I think that the devs of spore will come back and patch all the glitches.
Dont know if it would be feasible to test this but do you think that if you get enough saved games where there are no longer any available yellow stars it will try to put a new saved game in a red, blue, or binary star system? Or is it hard locked from doing so
Yeah I wonder if it would ever be truly "full" eventually. Related but, I've been trying to get a closer starting planet to Earth as well and tried using this glitch to keep getting more locations but haven't yet gotten the right yellow star that's close by. I checked it in Space and there was an artifact in the system. I wonder if that can also block the system from becoming a playable star, or maybe I didn't make enough saves to get it. So maybe there are some hard limits like not allowing red/blue stars or yellow stars with artifacts from becoming playable. But I'll keep testing that to see what I can get!
Somthing that happend to me in space stage was that i had a creature i didnt evolve since trible stage and for some reason this creature spawned on my main planet so it became a creature then I used that item you can buy that lets you change creatures so I changed the creature and then I had trible stage items in creature stage sadly i lost that creature trying a speed run, but that means in normal spore creature stage with no mods or cheats its possible to get trible stage parts, really cool
Using the Creature Tweaker in Space Stage on the creature you were playing on in a Creature Stage game allowed you to change the creature that was in the Creature Stage game as well? So when loading back up the Creature Stage, your creature was modified to have tribal parts?
@@KinglyValence no it didnt have but what happend was I got out of trible stage and I didnt change my creature until space stage some how it thought this was a creature and not a trible member so I could edit it
At the end, what would happen though if one were to cheat in some DNA to advance to the Tribal Stage? Would the other tribes spawn as normal?

With the last glitch, what happens if you visit the planet via another save in space stage ?
The planet appears like a normal T3 Creature Stage planet when viewed from a Space game. That would have been funny to have it completely blank in Space as well.
another glitch that's possible is if you save at the time you are in the cut seen of you leaveing cell stage it then you rejoin without saving it will creat another one of tho's thing's that say's what path you toke, i wonder if useing this glitch it's possible to get more ability's in creature stage, and way's I SUPPORT SPORE AND WILL KEEP SUPPORTING ❤
That's similar to the Empty Planet glitch, if we don't get through the timeline and skip the cutscene fast enough and the save takes place in the cutscene and not quite in the Early Creature Editor, yeah the timeline gets an extra column of consequence results. This doesn't seem to affect Creature Stage except it can make our timeline infinitely long by continuously stacking those columns on the timeline lol.
Getting the Empty Planet glitch can be kind of hard and sometimes takes a couple tries and I'll end up with a really long timeline for each try it didn't work correctly.
Does anything cool happen if you do the final glitch on other stages?
I think they were tried and this was the only Stage to get an interesting result without a game crash, but I don't remember completely. I'll have to check through the discord again :)

Why'd you have to point out the fake loading screens? I just thought it was poorly optimized, not that it takes that long on purpose.
lol, it's all an illusion! I had some suspicions even before knowing they could be completely skipped. Timing videos for speedruns the loading screens were always suspiciously the exact or nearly the exact same length of time. And speeding them up worked with Cheat Engine too. I thought it was weird a load could go faster if the game was sped up lol. It all makes sense now!
having played the game on less-than-contemporary hardware back on release, i can promise you that the loading screens _aren't_ faked
from the looks of things, what's going on is that they weren't designed with hardware on the opposite side of non-contemporary in mind, so the creature cards that act as progress indicators aren't programmed to pop up faster than one at a time and the game isn't programmed to progress past the loading screen until they've finished doing their thing. or maybe it's entirely intentional because the devs wanted you to see that little animation sequence, even after hardware got strong enough to load a planet near-instantly. either way, it's more of a loading screen with a minimum duration than a fake one, not that there's much of a difference for anyone except the dudes still stuck on potatoes that have long since gone moldy
@@hi-i-am-atan Yeah it makes sense that the actual loading is taking place during the first or second Card of "progress bar." When loading a Stage for the first time, the first card does take a more few seconds to appear, then the rest of them appear consistently after. The devs probably didn't figured the 10 Cards across the screen would end up taking the majority of the loading screen time with new hardware. But totally agree it's more of a minimum waiting time, especially since on lower resolutions less Cards appear across the screen. I think only can 8 appear with more square aspect ratios.
If you use the glitch to have multiple save games with the same planet name, is there any way to access your older planets again? Or are those save games effectively lost forever?
I guess you can try editing the save file to rename the planet?
The old saves are lost, unfortunately. Even if we delete the newest save, the older ones will be corrupted and can't be played anymore. Make sure not to override any important saves!

saves are stored as "planetname".spo, all in the same folder. i think when you create another game with the same name it forcibly overrides the previous file.
@@ronaid-with-an-i When selecting the game from the main menu it says "file is missing or corrupted" and doesn't let you click the starting arrow, it's greyed out.

What happens if you delete the most recently saved Bajor? Does everything delete or do you get access to the next most recently saved Bajor?
Deleting the most recent save makes all the earlier saved games corrupted and can't be played, unfortunately. So the earlier saves are basically lost.
So does this mean infinite dna for the first glitch
Selling just one of the mirrored parts gives 0 DNA, unfortunately and the other half can't be split again. But I like your thinking though!

Ahh, I know this feeling when you create a masterpiece with your creature creator tool, put it on a planet, use Monolith in hope that this particular creature will evolve, but then you come back to see that SPORE once again somehow decided that the dominant species on that planet are those stupid abominations that just left the primal soup.
@@mastermind4499 that's not what I meant. I'm using Monoliths to create home planets to take over. Just trying to figure out the best way to reset for 10 colony ones
Not on Monolith Empires, but an interesting note I've discovered: every once in a blue moon, an Empire you haven't visited yet will become activated, and if they do, you can still reroll for spice colors, but not terrascores, the structures of planets, the number of them, nor the number of colonies

I haven't played that one, is that the game where the servers were shutdown so it's basically impossible to play today?

They'll never fix these, it's been more years than I can count since this game has been updated in any way. Unless a near impossible thing happens where another company somehow buys spore from EA and then will update the game. As much as I wish for the best to happen to this game by fixing some of the more annoying bugs like constantly crashing in creature stage, and give me full freedom of terra-sculpting other planets in space stage without resetting any alterations I make, I think it's for the best that this game should never be tampered with, because the chances that a new company will completely screw over spore by adding microtransactions and other stupid things is astronomically higher than my made up dream scenario...
