    If you wanna make the backpack, a little more sturdy, you can take your inflatable mattress inflated completely, put it inside the backpack in a circular motion and stuff everything else inside that way your backpack would be more rigid and maybe more to your liking

    Nice vid, buddy. I have two things to say on that gear.
    1. The headlamp. A little trip to Halfrauds, and grab a roll of the brake-light repair tape, and stick some over the front of the lamps. This gives a red light instead of blinding white light. As an ex-soldier you’ll appreciate the benefit of keeping your night-vision.
    2. The folding buck-saw. Those ones are crap. I have one and hate it. You don’t have enough purchase to twist the knurled knob-ends tight enough to properly tension the blade, meaning every single cut will be a curved one. In my experience, if you’re going to need a saw of that type, you’ll also be wanting straight cuts.
    My 50p worth. Everything else looks like a decent start-out gear load-out 👍🏻

      Hi Mike. Head lamp will only be used in emergencies, i.e., checking for spiders and or ghosts🤣.

    The gasifier stoves work great. I've had mine for 2 years and it goes with me on just about every hiking trip. It's important how you load them, though, and you light them from the top. Pack the wood and twigs in standing up vertically as tight as you can. Make sure the secondary burning holes on the inside are not covered. I get almost 45 minutes of useful heat out of mine. But again, there's a knack to loading them. Its One of my favorite pieces of gear. Also, with the folding saw: I couldn't find anywhere that sold replacement blades. I'm anxious to see how yours performs. It'll be interesting to see how everything works out for you. BTW: little tray for the stove can be used as an ash catcher, or a little tray for holding a solid fuel pellets (it goes inside the stove).

    • @greenvalleyoutdoors
      @greenvalleyoutdoors  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Hello mate, that's where I went wrong then, as it took a while to boil a cup of water.
      The bow saw teeth are too fine for my usage so didn't use it for very long, how ever, the grey fold saw was great to use and a nice size.
      Thank you for your feed back, I really appreciate it
      Floyd

    • @davidvaughn7752
      @davidvaughn7752 Před 7 měsíci +1

      No problem... Just one more thing about the gasifier: I leave a little space in the very middle when getting close to finishing loading it and stuff some tinder (of your choice) in the lot. Light that (from the top as I said) and you should be good-to-go. I know, it's counter intuitive, but that is how they are designed. You shouldn't have anything more than a small pile of ashes when it's all burned - very efficient little guys and one of the few things out of China that you can count on. 😉 Like I said, I love mine and once I figured it out it's become part of my standard gear, especially when an open fire is not an option (some national parks, and burn-bans here in the States). Enjoyed the vid and the concept of trying out cheap gear. (Glad I didn't get the folding saw... got a Silky instead).

      Thank you for a great review video which i really enjoyed. I'll share some info about Temu and their camping equipment on it as well.
      Temu is a offshoot of PDD holdings (Pinduoduo Inc) a NASDAQ traded company, it's one of the largest e-commerce company in China, kind of their ver. of Amazon, Specializes in affordable but good quality everyday items, they sales to hundreds of millions Chinese everyday. Temu is their intl. offshoot, so they're used to dealing with huge sales volume at inexpensive prices. The products on it, are generally good for the price point, though some are better deals than others, along with few bad apples.
      Company like Naturehike is one of biggest Outdoor/Camping equipment brand in China, (kind of their Ver. Of Coleman) based in the coastal city of Ningbo, in the province of Zhejiang. As china became more developed in recent decades, their people became more affluent, Outdoor sports/Camping became quite popular there, if one travel through their National Parks & Campgrounds, will see Naturehike products quite often, hence the generally good quality. What we see on Amazon or Temu are just a fraction of their entire products line up, usually selling by a 3rd party e-retailer on Amazon, ebay or Temu, just as Toyota don't sell their entire line up in US, there's many Toyota cars we never even heard of outside of Japan, cater to their domestic mkt but not intl mkt.
      The World is changing fast before our eyes, China's Domestic Brands products quality are improving everyday, not just on camping gear but across the broad.
      It's similar to Japan went from 70s-80s cheap cars & merchandises to 90s-00s fair & fine quality products at decen prices. Pretty soon some will become internationally recognizable brands & dominant players.
      If 5 years ago, someone tells me a Chinese Outdoor Brand company makes the world's best ultralight titanium backpacking stove, I did say you must be joking, but now everyone seriously about backpacking heard of BRS stove.
      A brave new world we live in.

    Buy cheap, buy twice!
    It all looks like nasty Chinese tat from a company that jeopardises reputable companies, plus the R&D on future quality products.
    If you want to spend as little as possible on kit for a night in favourable conditions, then you've found the right company.
    For anyone serious about their long-term welfare in the great outdoors, look elsewhere.
    I prefer gear that is tried and tested, has stood the test of time, and won't fail when you are depending on it.
    I'm not being elitist, and everyone's budget is different, but I'd much rather wait, save up for longer then buy something that is reliable.
    Look at it as delayed gratification. Plus, if you care for it properly, it'll give you years of service. I'm still using kit I bought 40 years ago.
