I wish more blades were like Percecal: super good under certain conditions but just serviceable under others. Heck, the pre-release E3 trailers and Directs for this game even advertised the whole Blade system to be similar to weapon swapping from other games: "use the right blade/weapon for the right job/battle".
I actually appreciate balancing like this. He’s borderline busted in one area but subpar in another. I wish more games balanced like this!

My third ever blade, and one of my absolute favourites. Considering how often I get into fights with huge amounts of enemies, Perceval was a mainstay for most of my playthrough. I would rank him as my second favourite Katana, with Theory being my absolute favourite.
You forgot the most important part of Perceval: The Perceval Roulette
You give Perceval a weak weapon and auto attack the Mayne Driver in Torigoth.
If you don't execute him take the punishment of your choice.
Challenge Mode: Nia and Perceval alone into the Old Factory with Perceval's only aux core being Humanoid Slayer. Nia has a Humanoid Slayer art on her Katanas.

It seems Perceval is the nerfed version that we got from T-elos. Only an aux core...that's really sad. I used him in the Dino challenge and the other one in Temperantia but I gave up on him against Carlos because honestly I thought T-elos was just a monster hitting like a truck after killing a few enemies but for the main game Perceval is fine. He's a balanced blade and his design is sick, I absolutely love his design.

I don't know if I imagined it or not, but there's a part near the end of the game where Rex fights his comrades and I took down Zeke using Perceval's Brandish...

My first rare blade ever! He always has nostalgia for me and was one of the first i got to S!
I recently had a playthrough of this game again because of chuggaconroy's let's play and it let me realize that he's good on old factory segment of the story and that Rex is a decent Katana user and can use the weapon decently. I managed to get Percival during my playthrough and managed to get him on Rex and with the knowledge of how to use him he has become very fun to use if you manage to get him early to mid game.
As soon as I saw Perceval I knew I needed him no matter how meta he was.
He was my very first rare blade, and I used him constantly up through Mor Ardain, because I like having a nice fast dark blade to parallel Corvin and Mithra for combo's (plus those 3 together give break, topple and smash, so some of the other party had 2 or 3 launch blades)... and even after Mor Ardain, he was frequently equipped because I love how good he is vs multiple enemies! All in all, he might not be the very best, but he's one of my favorites to use!
Percival looks cool and is great to have in the early parts of the game I wish I he hadn't been one of the last blades I pulled on my first playthrough.
Perceval seems very interesting because of that one skill, perhaps I'll build him for some challenge mode stuff myself in future

Also you probably don't like hearing suggestions, but I'd love to see Agate next, she's my absolute favorite rare blade.
I'd like to see you do Dagas or Boreas soon; they're pretty special.

I don't get why Monolith won't let us earn more Aux Core slots. Seems like a no-brainer to me.
It's like limiting aux core slots was meant to balance the more busted blades in the game, but ended up getting used for the exact opposite.
He's my favorite blade I'm glad he doesn't suck 😁😁

I've gotten a total of four non-essential unique blades so far and I already know I'm going ride or die with Perceval until the end of the game!
Would've been cool if his execution ability worked on some of the regular enemies of Challenge Mode. While it is inconsistent, it's super satisfying when you get lucky and a bulky enemy goes down in a single hit.
May not be the best blade but god his art is so good

You can also just make sure to target another enemy you’re not currently engaging and slowly run over there weapon drawn just before wiping out the first lot and continuously do this to traverse some map sections and not loose damage?

Would it have been better to use Adenine on Zeke for doubling damage from perceval once carlos enrages? Or is the 120% additive through the whole challenge better? Or could it go either way? Also theorycrafting that maybe dark evasion qtpi plus mythra plus patroka on morag might be the best for this challenge, or am i wrong? Either way, sick video as usual, and hope you’re doin well :)
either is fine. Dagas just helps for the entire fight.

perceval has one of the weirdest 3d models in the game. (like have you seen those eyes?!?)
the 2d art to 3d model conversion just does not work for some characters.

I put percevel on Rex but I also put Corvin on Rex so I didn’t really use him in my second playthrough on my third playthrough I pulled him on zeke I also unfortunately put corvin on zeke as well so Um sorry perceval

Is there a known formula which calculates whenever you dodge attacks? There probably is, I just can't find it.
Don't know the exact formula for evasion but you can easily hit the cap of 97%.
Enel do you think you could do Telos and Kosmos next to each other like how you did mythra and then pyra afterwards

Does the blade switch cooldown ever matter at all? If so, when? For the most part, I never see you switch blades because you usually have commons as stat modifiers to support the one you use.
Well, for me I usually build my team around driver combos mostly then blade combo. So I constantly switch between blades since: even though male teammates are pretty consistant at pulling off driver combos (except smash for some reason), the best way is still to do it yourself. So most of the time I equip 3 out of the 4 combo moves and wait for my teammates to do the last one. Granted, I'm not in optimal gameplay as I just started challenge mode. To summarize it can be pretty useful to have fast blade switch depending of your play style.
Also, Enel is doing a guide for a specific blade so he tries to give it the best uptime/setup possible to shine.
blade switch cooldown matters plenty for optimal times and certain challenges. The reason I don't really swap in these videos is because I'm trying to show off a singular blade. But that doesn't mean you can't.

I'm not saying Perceval is amazing or anything, but wouldn't his skills make him incredible against a boss with a lot of (humanoid) adds? Use his level 3, get a bunch of adds in the aoe. Some die to the 3% instant kill, some to the 5% humanoid instant kill, some just to damage amounts, and you get the boost for killing enemies. If they call in more humanoid enemies to help, you can kill them all even more easily the same way. Meanwhile the damage boost helps kill the boss faster.
I don't think there is such a boss or unique monster in the game (Tyrannotitan Kurodil might be good if you aggro the enemies nearby as well, Immovable Gonzalez might be good since he can call the nearby gogols over, normal players going through the story still might find use against some weaker unique driver enemies that have others around, like that one in Uraya). But still, in theory he could be amazing in such a fight, adds become meaningless and just make you stronger against the boss.
This is the only Blade I don't have. I have used a least 200 Legendary Cores.
i bet he will do Kos-Mos as the last blade of the series.

I know this is kind of unrelated to Perceval, but why were you pausing at the start of each wave of the challenge battle? what benefit does that give?
time save, it's just muscle memory at this point since I go for records a lot

I was pogging a little bit until you made me remember he had only 1 aux core slot.....
I allways find Execution skills boring, the only game I ever run it is Xcom and thats cause there is so much broken things thrown your way that this skill activating is a god send since not even bosses are inmune to it (tough it does make some hilariously anticlimatic moments occur on a regular basis)
but for this game this is what I would do to Execution
Lv1 Versus X Type of enemy, Crit +10% + Crit Dmg +5%
Lv5 Versus X Type of enemy, Crit +20% + Crit Dmg +15%
Equipment with Executioner Skill
Versus X Type of enemy, Crit +15% + Crit Dmg +10%
now, would it be better to make it aditive or multiplicative? I think aditive since I didnt give it that big of a boost
