    It's also useful to check your motor bearing if you are chewing gears. They need replacing often if you jump big or get them wet. A sloppy motor bearing will never mesh right.

    With pins set in correct position, does yours have that bad cogging sound? Mine is stock......... 18/54 or what ever the☝️spur is .. biggest one anyways.....that plastic housing guess has alot of flex for such a big rv truck...my outcast 8s, smooth as butter...roll tires with one finger...Xmaxx..takes 2 hands to turn all 4 wheels..both our X-Maxx's like that

    • @wyshtechairsoft
      @wyshtechairsoft  Před rokem

      This Xmaxx cogged at well but it wasn't bad. Ive long since sold the RC but it was running like new after repairs were made. I bought this thing used and busted so I got a really good deal on it.

  • @opticsavage2122
    @opticsavage2122 Před 2 lety +1

    i did this and it instantly blew apart my pinion gear, but it did work the second time

  • @mikebusch2
    @mikebusch2 Před 3 lety +1

    I purchased an XMaxx over the summer and went through pinions and spurs like mad. The pinion kept slipping off the shaft, leading to catastrophic destruction of the pinion and spur. I used every flavor of loc-tite in existence to no avail. It turns out, the flat spot that the grub screw would mate with was actually slightly tapered. I confirmed this by measuring it with calipers. Heat cycles would just push the pinion right off after a couple battery runs. I didn't have the tools to properly re-machine the flat, so I drilled a divot in the shaft for the grub screw to seat into when it's fully screwed down. I haven't had a problem since. The downside to this is you're likely limited to one brand of pinions, so they all have the grub screw in the same location.

    • @wyshtechairsoft
      @wyshtechairsoft  Před 3 lety

      Ive heard of this happening if you dont have the motor slotted into the chassis correctly. Though great idea of fixing the problem!

    • @jonathanboyer8723
      @jonathanboyer8723 Před 2 lety

      The xmaxx has optional pinions and spurs, for the spur a smaller gear is faster, for the pinion larger is faster

    • @wyshtechairsoft
      @wyshtechairsoft  Před 3 lety

    • @wyshtechairsoft
      @wyshtechairsoft  Před 3 lety

      It depends on the gear ratio you are going with. Move the pins to what gear set you are going with and then place your motor back into the rc on the pins. Hope this helps!
