What a relief: no talking, no music! Thank you so much! The peacefulness of the video really enhanced the learning process. If only more crafters realized that their choice of music is often so annoying that it takes away from the experience. Your channel has inspired me to learn bookbinding.
Yes to this comment. I so very much agree with everything you stated.
Same! ❤
I just squealed with glee when you flush cut the edges! I didn't think anything existed that didn't take up a corner in the back of a print shop (used to work at one). I love a clean flush cut edge (deckled/irregular has it's place)but oh that flush cut! I haven't done book binding in years but have always loved the methodical process of it, as well as the stitching is so relaxing. I found your channel recently and it just got me excited again. Thank you so much for sharing.
It's very satisfying
What's the name of the equipment you used to create that cut?

A guillotine I think?
How wonderful to watch a video with no loud annoyingly distracting music. Thank you for that. Nice video.
Just a lovely book with beautiful paper and I appreciate that it take a significant amount of work for even one book!
such a pretty book! I can't wait till your shop reopens and I can get a pretty sketchbook!
Working on making books for you all!
If only I had her eye for color and design. I've been re-covering and re-casing library books for years but beauty has never been the goal. I love her work.
You look perfectly at home in the new studio. Love your dog!
Can we just talk about the neatness of your space for a minute!!! LOL! So neat! Love it! And the video, thanks for sharing!!🤩
So peaceful ❤ beautiful books, inspired me to learn this technique, I start my first one today

😲 Wonderful compliment!
This may not be intended as a tutorial but, what a wonderful tutorial.
Hello! Beautifully made! I made one of these a few years ago, yours looks so much better. I never cut the sheets. I never thought of doing it after the book was made! I must find a guillotine because I still have it.
Excellent video. Thanks
Muy bueno lo que haces. Felicitaciones. 👏
Bellísimo 😱🌿🌸🥰🥰
Hermoso trabajo
First few seconds and I’m subscribing! 💕
Que hermoso trabajo. Me trajiste un bello recuerdo. Una prima me enseñó e hicimos una libreta así
Love seeing it without any music it was just meditative almost…
wonderful
Peaceful indeed. You're an inspiration. @bitter melon bindery If not already done, could you make a DIY video for this type of book? Especially the binding? That would be awesome.
cool watching your process. I think you were doing bookmaking in Vancouver? Your process is similar to what I learned when Granville Island had their paper making sudeo - Hollander beater and all! Nice video.. I really need to make books again!
Pretty
سلام و خسته نباشید
بسیار کارتان را دوست دارم بیش از حد با ظرافت و دقت و وسواس بالایی کار میکنید که نتیجه ی آثارتان را ارتقاء می بخشد 😍😍😍
Gorgeous book and bookbinding work like all the other projects you've done, I love it! The metallic gold designs on the cover paper are so beautiful! How do you keep the covers so tight and neat when you do the coptic stitch? My covers (not my signatures) always have some slip and sliding up and down every time I open my journal, and I'm having trouble keeping the knots/stitching on those tight enough. What can I do to improve this?
Masterpiece!! Just want to know the distance between the edge of the board to the hole. Thanks..perfect video!
Hi 👋 thank you for this relaxing video. Is this type of book ok for drawing purposes ? What type of paper do you made them of ? Is it a thick paper ? Thanks again for your great videos 🙏
Beautiful! Where do you find that gorgeous Lokta paper?
❤️❤️❤️
i'm totally falling for this asmr , it's so relaxing i almost fall asleep while watching this video❤. Your channel inspired me so much that i started to create my own book . i also wanted to ask you something , what type of paper do you use because i don't know if this is the same type, i actually used drawing paper ( canson paper since i live in France ) , do you think the paper i use it's good to have the same book like you ?
PS : thank you so much again for those wonderful videos , it's just perfect and amazing ❤❤❤❤
Wonderful, I’m glad you’re enjoying the video! Any kind of drawing paper will work! I don’t remember the paper I used but I use a lot of 100-120 gsm sketch paper.
I just checked and the paper I used in the video is 160 gsm mixed media paper
As always, so calming to watch you work and to learn from your videos. I tried binding my first ever coptic stitch book the other day and it was a terrible mess 😅 Not only did I get the paper grain wrong, I also made a bunch of mistakes which ended up with me removing and redoing my stitches. I also had no clue on how to keep my thread looking neat. It was nerve wrecking. But good learning. I like all your book cover papers. They are so beautiful. Is there a specific store that you would buy them from?
Keep trying! I've had my share of messy books. 😅 I get my paper from multiple sources, I often just google "lokta paper" or "chiyogami paper".

Thank you Linda!
💐
What is the cardboard you use for the covers?
Thanks for your videos they are so soothing and beautiful
I used 30 ply chipboard!
@@bittermelonbindery thank you !!
where was that book chopper thing from? it's amazing!
I just updated my description with a link to it!
❤️📓👏🏻
The initial layer of glue on the board seems to swell it and make it curl. What do you do that makes it flat again?
Good question... I don't know! I've been ordering chipboard from the same place for years and this time the quality isn't as good, so I'm having warping issues. Gluing the endpaper with PVA and pressing them seems to keep them flat.
how much did you cutter cost and can it cut 200 sheets easily?
What kind of glue do you use please and the etsy link is not working; thank you 🙂
🤗🤗💕💕💕💕
What brand/make is the block paper cutter?
Здравствуйте, а что это за материал которым вы обтягиваете картон?
Where is the apron from?
What size thread are you using?
I see you measure each signature before you punch the holes. Wouldn't it be easier if you used a punching mould? That way all your signatures will be uniform in every book you make (you only need one mould if all your books are the same size ^^) and you'll save some time. ^^ unless you know the measurements by heart ofc ^^
But these books look gorgeous ❤️
That's a good tip! I actually measure the first signature then use it as a guide for the rest.
💕 P r o m o S M!!!
