The dude is Jonathan Groff. His character was Rachel's ex but in real life, he was the king in Hamilton on broadway, Ford from Mindhunter, and the voice of Kristoff from Frozen.
He’s Jonathan Groff - he’s done a lot of broadway and acting. On the show he played Jesse, the girl’s ex-boyfriend. They were both the lead singers of rival vocal groups
His voice gives me chills literally anytime I hear him sing..that rasp..
Jonathan Groffs vocals are insane. He was the voice for Kristoff in Frozen and was also in spring awakening, and Hamilton.
His Glee performance of Bohemian Rhapsody was epic.
That song definitely doesnt do Rachel's voice justice, but keep the Glee going and I promise the Gleeks will take over your channel. Lol.
I'm party of the older crowd so the best way to explain would be a 2000's version of 90210 with far more representation and diversity... with music. The whole show dealt with real life situations sexuality, race, religion, teen moms, violence, bullys, LGBTQ + and suicide, in a language young people could understand. It was way over the top and cringy but it did what people needed at the time which was to start talking and understanding people from all walks of life.
Lea aka Rachel ie right now Fanny Brice on Funny Girl on Broadway. Lea has just marked 28 years as a professional singer. Her 1st roll at 8 years old. She was named one of Times Influential people
For Jonathon watch Hamilton. You’ll get it. These 2 are best friends in real life, have been since they were in a Broadway show together Pre-Glee. He was her “Best Person” at her wedding & is Godfather to her son.
Glee Songs: My fave song (by a MILE) is Cough Syrup (yes, that is the name of the song) but the video needs a Huge Trigger warning.
My favorite Performance is Smooth Criminal (The song is #3 on my list). Most people would say Paradise by the Dashboard Light since it is a competition performance but go with Smooth Criminal. If you’ve ever watched an Arrowverse show on CW you’re in for a surprise. Although, that could be said for a lot of Season 4 songs. For that I’d recommend Holding Out for a Hero.
I know other people have left comments and I'm late here.. buuuuuuut that is Jonathan Groff aka Jesse Saint James, star of the rival Glee club Vocal Adrenaline. He met Rachel in a convoluted dramatic plot that ended up breaking Rachel's heart and Jesse actually ends up falling for her..it is a very long story. But he is absolutely incredible and every song he sings is perfect. I don't know if you've reacted to this one, but you should try hear him sing Bohemian Rhapsody.
